Prolouge

A young woman slid silently through the empty streets of Aztin Ezada. Her face was masked by the scarf she wore, her body in a light shoulder sleeved tang top and soft trousers. The steps she took were silent, her breathing shallow. The street lights sprung moving shadows that seemed to hide everything yet blow it all the same.

A shiver escaped her lips at the unusual cold that surrounded her body. The night was supposed to be cool, not freezing. Nothing could be done about that now that she was halfway to her destination. Daezin was waiting for her and once she reached him things would be warm enough.

Her steps were steady and she only stopped to make sure she wasn't being followed. The girl stepped into a dark tunnel with only the lamp she had grabbed at the entrance for light. She brushed her free hand against a brick wall. It was damp and moss was growing out of it.

"Where is it?" she muttered, as she lifted her had to brush out the purple and blue strands of hair that made their way into her face. Her body was cold but strangely enough, she was sweating profoundly.

She moved further down the tunnel, her hand brushing against the wall looking for something. The girl even squatted and got on her knews looking for the hidden mystery.

As she got up she muttered the words, "Shit, I can't find the damn switch or lever or whatever the hell it is." Her hands clamped down into mini fists, heat enaminated from her body. Sweat tingled down her face, but she didn't care. She was just so frustrated. "Daezin's gonna be furious when I don't show up," she whispered regaining her composer, a shiver escaped her rosey lips when she remembered the cold.

"Strange," she said looking up between chatters. "I don't remember it being this cold." Her arms wrapped tighter about her slim body.

The shadows around her swirled about her lamp that was lying by her feet, her only real source of light. "Tsk, tsk, tsk." A unknown voice said around her. "Why, Zae Suki don't you reconise my voice?"

Zae Suki stopped shivering at the sound of his cold voice. The only person who that man could be was Dante, her worst nightmare. The worst part about it was that Zae knew that she didn't stand a chance. He was the master of over 12,000 black and white magics. She only mastered 5 and a half thousand which is nothing to him. Sure she could defeat almost every other person her age and some of the elders, but she was nothing to him. The only six who stood a chance are mostly dead or missing assumed dead. Only Daezin, Corin, and Azedi Lee stood a chance but they have weakened in the hundreds of years since that Great Battle. Kyo and Yu disappeared and are pressumed dead, Jihazike died mysteriously one day when he was out by a stream one sunny day. Zae knew she was doomed, but maybe she could perhaps tire the bastard out before she was destroyed.

The lamp's light dimmed and shadows loomed even higher everywhere, the little light left kept her on edge. It played tricks with her eyes, making things appear that weren't even there. Zae lowered herself into her battle crouch. She took two shurokin out of her pockets with one in each hand. Zae stayed still and focused all of her magics into the blades. It was her own little speciality, being the best of shurokin. She was well known as the master of the twin blades since the shuroken were the same as daggers and they were exactly identical.

"My, my, my...You don't think you can beat me with those tooth picks, do you?" Dante' mocked. "This is the big leagues and we use magic and swords."

Out of nowhere a bolt of lightning like magic sprang from her right. Zae barely dodged it with a quick rool, though it still hit her ankle. A groan of pain escaped her lips. "Shit," she muttered making quick use of her ankle wrapping it with some cloth.

A moment later sending a shuroken to where the attack came from infused with an infernal of blazing hot fire. Dante' laughed mockingly at her as he grabbed it between his two fingers and blowing out the flames like it was a candle. "Is that the best you got Zae?"

Her eyes darkened, "I'm just getting warmed up."

"This should be interesting, let the fun begin." He laughed and barely with any thought at all threw another bolt of lightning at Zae.

But Zae was ready that time. She did a quick spell a brought a small shield against it followed by a light magic fireball. It hit his side doing little damage at best. Zae quickly took refuge behind a fallen rock to her left. She was exhausted already when he seemed to be hardly making an effort.

"Why Zae what happened to all that spark? Don't tell me your tired already." He muttered an incantation and suddenly Zae was surrunding by a lightning prison. Out of all his magics elictricity was his favorite and one of the more powerful magics. Zae knew the fight was over and he'll have his way.

Zae lowered her head and eyes sighing in defeat. Her shuroken dropped from her hand and clattered against the floor. She muttered a silent 'No!' before closing her eyes.

His body appeared before her with that mocking grin. He walked forward and crouched next to her. "Finished already?"

She looked up at him and said weakly, "Better be careful or I'll cut your throat."

He laughed darkly grabbing a fistful of her short purple/blue hair, "No you won't my dear little Zae." A small groan of pain escaped her lips. "Your too weak. You may be stronger than those other weaklings but never me. I have a proposition for you." That caught her attention. "If you swear allegience to me and only me, and then tell me where Daezin's location is along with his plans I'll let you live. Otherwise you'll die."

Now it was her turn to laugh, "You think I'll swear alligence to you?" She stopped laughing and instead replied coldly, "The bastard who murdered my twin brother Kyo? And why would I betray Daezin, the only one who cared for me when you destroyed my family. My father commited suicide because of you, my mother fell ill. So what do my answer is, yes? Fuck you, my answer is NO."

"Very touching, but I really don't give a bloody hell." Zae spat into his face making Dante' quite angry rather pissed. "Bitch," he snarled pulling harder on her hair. She cried out causing him to smile. "Feels good, eh?" The he swung his other hand across her face with such force that it caused Zae to black out.
