That night the two girls slept in a pallet on the floor of the living room. They didn't do anything except hold each other. It was a perfect moment. One that Samara never wanted to end. They had the computer radio on playing all types of music, from rock to pop. Then the song 'Lovers And Friends' by Usher, Lil Jon, and Ludacris, came on. It was one of Samara's favorite songs. She laughed as they listened to the words.

Lovers And Friends - Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris

Baby, how ya doin'? Hope that 'cha fine, wanna know what you got in mind, And I'm,
Got me fiendin' like Jodeci, girl, I can't leave you alone,
Take a shot of this here Petrone' and it's gon' be on,
V.I.P. done got way too crowded,
I'm about to end up callin' it a night,
You should holla at 'cha girl, tell her you shake it the scene,
Pull off, beep-beep, shotgun in the GT with me She said, "Ohhh-ohhh, I'm ready to ride, yeah"
"'Cause once you get inside, you can't change your mind"
"Don't mean to sound impatient, but you gotta promise, baby, ohh..."

Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, I gotta know, baby, aw yeah)
Tell me again (Make sho' you right, ohh, before we leave,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)...

Sometimes wanna be your lover,
Sometimes wanna be your friend,
Sometimes wanna hug ya,
Hold hands, slow-dance while the record spins,
Opened up your heart 'cause you said I made you feel so comfortable,
Used to play back then, now you all grown-up like Rudy Huxtable,
I could be your Bud, you could beat me up,
Play-fight in the dark, then we both make love,
I'd do anything just to feel your butt,
Why you got me so messed up?
I don't know, but you gotta stop trippin,
Be a good girl now, turn around, and get these whippings,
You know you like it like that,
You don't have to fight back,
Here's a pillow - bite...that,
And I'll be settin' seperate plays,
So on all these separate days,
Your legs can go they separate...ways...

Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)
Tell me again (Tell me over-and-over-and-over again,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Make sho' you right, before you choose.
I's been know you fo' a long time (shawty,
But fuckin' never crossed my mind (shawty,
But tonight, I seen sumthin' in ya (shawty,
That made me wanna get wit 'cha (shawty,
But you ain't been nuttin' but a friend to me (shawty,
And a nigga never ever dreamed we'd be (shawty,
Up in here, kissin', huggin', squeezin', touchin' (shawty,
Up in the bathtub, rub-a-dubbin' (shawty,
Are you sure you wanna go this route? (shawty,
Let a nigga know before I pull it out (shawty,
I would never ever cross the line (shawty,
Shawty, let me hear ya tell me one mo' time...one mo' time...

Tell me again (Tell me again, my baby,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Ohh, it's a good look, baby)
Tell me again (Make sho' you right, ohh, before we leave,
That we'll be Lovers and Friends (Tell me over-and-over-and-over again)...

Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again (Hey! (Hey)
Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again, that's right (Hey! (Hey)
Please tell your Lovers and Friends,
That Usher, Jon, and Luda had to do it again (Hey! (Hey!)...

"Will we always be lovers and friends, Nikki?" She asked as she kissed Nicole.

"Of course, Sammie, always." Samara smiled and laid her head back down on the pillow.

"I love you."

"I love you too, now go to sleep."

"Night, Nikki."

"Night, Sammie."

As they slept Nicole's phone rang repeatedly, but she never answered. However, she didn't know it was her mother on her way back home. The two girls, ignorant to the fact that Nicole's family was on its way home, slept together, naked under the covers. At one o'clock in the morning, Chelsea and Natasha walked into the house to see the two wrapped around each other. Chelsea was infuriated. She quickly woke the two up.

"Girls!" Nicole sat up first.

"Mom! What…"

"I was worried that you were in trouble when you didn't answer your phone, but this is why? This is so wrong Nicole!"

"Wrong? Wrong? How is it possibly wrong?!"

"It's a sin to lie with people of the same sex!"

"Maybe I don't care about all of that!"

"No daughter of mine is going to act like this! Go upstairs! NOW!" Nicole grabbed her clothes and kissed Samara on the cheek. Samara was getting dressed under the blanket. She then stood up.

"I think I should go, I'll ride Marta to get home."

"No, I am going to drive you. Go get your stuff." She couldn't look Chelsea in the eye. She just ran up stairs with tears forming in her eyes. When she got to Nicole's room she saw something that no one had ever seen before. Nicole was crying. She wasn't the type to cry, ever.

"Nikki?" She looked up from the floor.

"I'm sorry, Sammie. I'm so sorry."

"No! You have nothing to be sorry for!" Samara said as she sat on the bed next to Nicole.

"Let's just get your stuff." Samara kissed Nicole deeply. They let go and began to collect all of her stuff.

Downstairs Chelsea and Natasha stood waiting.

"Mom, I think that you yelling and saying all of that stuff is just going to make Nikki hate you."

"Natasha, she's my daughter, and that's just not natural!"

"Not natural? Mom, she's your daughter, does it really matter who she loves?"

"She is sixteen; she doesn't know what love is."

"Mom! You have got to be kidding! You can't tell me that you never noticed the way they look at each other!"

"I knew, but I didn't know. Now that I do, that girl will never come back into this house."

"I'm telling you, you're making a mistake!"

"Don't tell me how to raise my children! Look, you turned out fine!"

"I'm not Nikki."

"Go make sure they aren't doing anything."

"Yes ma'am." Natasha walked upstairs.

"Hey guys."

"Hey 'Tasha."

"I'm sorry about Mom. I tried to talk some sense into her, but you know how Mom is."

"Yeah. It's ok. We'll figure something out."

"She's talking about Sammie not being able to come back."

"I knew she would."

"I've got all of my stuff."

"Wait," Nicole said as she rummaged through her stuff. "Here, take this." She said closing the drawer and handing something to Samara. It was a hair clip with a wolf on it. Samara smiled and put it in her hair, knowing it was her best friend's favorite animal. She then reached for her purse. She took a small fake flower off of it and gave it to Nicole. It was a pin that was a black rose, Samara's favorite flower. Nicole put it on her shirt.

"I love you Nicole."

"I love you too, Samara." Natasha looked behind herself to see if the coast was clear.

"Kiss, go ahead, I know you want to." Nicole smiled and hugged Samara before kissing her like it would be the last time.

"GIRLS!" They heard from downstairs.

"Come on girls, let's get this over with." Nicole took Samara's hand and they walked downstairs to meet with fate.
