Catch and Fall

Tears dripping from painted eyelashes
And eyes glazed with invisible sorrow
With a mouth that's trembling to spill
Apologies to a lover's heart.

Crystal clear remorse running down
Streaking a pinching face as it cries
For a man who told her he'd love forever
But vanished and disappeared away

So a woman lies in a puddle of tears
Shivering and choking with grief
Loving such a man never seemed difficult
But now the pressure is rising too high

He abandoned her with a calm farewell
Broke her heart with cruel compassion
Telling her, I want you to fall for me,
So she said yes

And he didn't catch her.
