So this is a song I wrote about a scene in my story: Memories of Halinor.
So here, I find you, alone, above the world, Children lie dead, the flames of the forest, tragedy blacks out the sky. Who is this friend that stands before me? Who is this child that made such a vow. RaneBow warrior, kill the intruder, you're no Aidan.
Standing in the yellow of dusk, he stares out over the fall. The flames of a rising sun show the sin of a mind corrupted. One knee. Your blood. My only companion.
Deep inside, there's a door not to be opened. There's a key that shouldn't be grasped. I blame no one for the story that lies at my feet. You'll get no excuses, I've run out of words. Nothing left but the shadow that surrounds these footsteps.
I've run out of days to bring pain to the innocent,
No more time to reverse my sin.
So here my sword will rest, until sweet judgment day.
So here my sword will rest, until sweet judgment day.
So here my soul will rest, until sweet judgment day.
So what now? Where from here? Which way does the trail take us next? Your strength seems to fail in the height of your anger! Does the confession count if the traitor stands still? Leave this damn pride! Showing off for our shadows but keeping the grudge. Now you'll rest here, never to avenge. Easy way out! Never repay your outstanding debt.
What right have I to wield again? My word has loved darkness. Desires brought death. For when do the ill cure the clean? Who would accept the sword of this tainted frame? No room on the front lines for me.
I've run out of days to bring pain to the innocent,
No more time to reverse my sin.
So here my sword will rest, until sweet judgment day. (One day I'll be free)
So here my sword will rest, until sweet judgment day. (One day I'll be free)
So here my soul will rest, until sweet judgment day.
So far out of reach. Why can't I just help?
You'll hold a special place on the shelf.
You'll hold a special place on the shelf.
Until sweet judgment day.
Until sweet judgment day.
Until sweet judgment day.
Until sweet judgment day.
