Chapter One- A day at a Concert
"Whaz's Sup, Kay?" Shanna said suddenly.
"Nothing much, Shanna." Kayo replied.
They were waiting in a huge line for some up coming concert for Myashi Hurt. The band was okay and besides Shanna knew how to get backstage passes. Kayo had just got in line with Shanna who was barely at the halfway point in the line. Shanna had been waiting in line since 5am and it was now some time around 3pm. Talk about commitment.
It was cold out, even though it was just the beginning of autumn where it was usually pretty humid. It usually turned cold at the end of autumn going on winter. Shanna was shivering though she made sure nobody noticed. She didn't want to show weakness of character, though she was bored through the teeth.
You see Shanna is awful pretty with scarlet eyes and dark purple hair but she turned it Goth like. She wore black most of the time and her right eye had a patch. Her hair had spikes coming from the side of her head ending somewhere around 6, 7 inches. It's hard to explain, so you'll need a picture to be certain. She also has a spike on either side her face going down to her chin. Be careful not to stare or get any ideas, since she'll break your heart. The look actually fitted her very well to be honest.
"Hey Kayo, from what I gathered from this screwed up place is that the concert's definitely next Sunday the 18th." Shanna said in an irritable tone, which isn't too surprising for her attitude at times. She then raised her hand and ran it through her hair. The second she withdrew her hand she shook her hair some, since that way it looked better and stayed out of her face.
"That's what I thought. Hey, I have something for you." Kayo then rummaged through her bag until she found what she was looking for. She pulled out a small white box and handed it to Shanna. "For You."
"Hmm, what can it be? An engagement ring?"
Kayo stared at her with a small trace of annoyance. That was building up quickly, enough. Shanna quickly decided to shut up and open it.
When Shanna finally opened up the box and peeked in, she found a gothic emblem or necklace in there. "Hey, you got the dang necklace I wanted. Thanks, dude!"
"Your welcome, I guess," Kayo said unsurely. She was surprised how Shanna was in such a good mood for once and she was also pretty scared.
"What's wrong with you? You look pretty dang uneasy," she said abnormally cheerful, "Ah well, thanks though. Hold on this idiot's trying to cut us." She carefully put the necklace in her pocket so she won't hurt Kayo's feelings if it broke and went up to the guy with unmasked malice in her eyes.
"Alright, then." Kayo said relieved. It seemed right to say she thought, and besides Shanna calmed down to her normal self, that's good right? Kayo wasn't sure to be honest.
"Hey you! Yah you in the black, get your butt over here." Shanna stated commandingly.
"What in the world is your problem girl?" The teenage idiot said much ruder than Shanna, astonishingly.
"My problem? I have been waiting here for a very long time, not to be intercepted by some moron and his naïve pals, who'll do anything for a kiss on the cheek."
"Well, this moron is now in front of you, so deal with it or I'll kick your ass, Missie."
By now they had attracted a lot of attention and Shanna was going to use that to embarrass the shit out of the kid when she was through with him.
"Ooh yes before I forget, what's your name? So, I know whom I humiliated when through here?"
"Rex and yours?"
"Shanna. So, bring it moron." Shanna said commandingly.
"You asked for it." He replied.
Rex lunged at Shanna a moment later, but she agilely stepped out of the way. He tried to trip her three times and succeeded the third time. She landed hard and bruised her hands, but she used her fall to her advantage. The second after she hit the ground she swung her legs and almost tripped him, but he jumped out of the way barely getting out of the way. When Shanna tried to get up he grabbed her and raised her in the air. His grip was iron hard and Shanna knew she couldn't get out of it. Shanna could feel his breath upon her, his breath smelt horrible. The guy's pals were now sneering at her. She got pissed at them and especially at Rex. Shanna acting on instinct swung up her leg and hit home. Rex dropped her and grimaced at the pain.
"Your not so bad girl," Rex said gruffly.
"Same to you." She replied hastily.
More and more people watched with interest and awe. Some people were just annoyed, which was most of the people there, but others enjoyed it. A guy named Seiji Corsica just laughed. He liked Shanna though he didn't actually know her name. But, he knew enough of what he was seeing that he better watch out of her temper. He looked to the ticket booth knowing he'll be there in a half in hour.
They each tried different tactics, but none of them succeeded. They eventually gave up and called it a tie. Both were clearly upset that they couldn't get the other beat. Rex because Shanna was a girl, and his gang will tease him later.
"This freaking sucks," Shanna stated bluntly, clearly frustrated.
"How can you flipping fight like that, girl? Most girls are weak sissies, only a few are brave but still weak. You should be no god dang exception." Rex replied basically the same to Shanna, but with a tad bit more irritation.
"I'm not like those pretty girls, if that's what you mean."
"I like your attitude, Girl."
"Don't get any ideas."
The specters began to ignore them to their bickering and focused on what laid ahead, only Seiji Corsica still watched in interest.
Kayo and Shanna got their tickets eventually and Shanna got Rex's number. She claimed it only for kicking his ass later, but Kayo was pretty sure she liked him. After all she let him stay put in front of them and even talked peacefully to him not fighting, so unlike her.
