Love Is
Love is not often known,
More often it is shown,
Who can say what is true,
That someone loves you.
What is love to me?
It is something to set me free,
Something soft and warm,
In the middle of the fiercest storm,
Love is you and you are mine,
All I need is one moment to see you shine,
That bright smile and loving gaze,
You never cease to amaze
Me in everything you do,
I could never find someone like you.
Love is patient
Love is kind
It does not envy
It does not boast
It is not proud
It is not rude
It is not self-seeking
It is not easily angered
It keeps no record of wrongs
Love is when you are held tight,
Or comforted in the dark of the night.
Love is sweet and pure,
Never something completely obscure.
Love is confident and strong,
It is something I want all my life long.
Love can hurt,
But that is no reason to be on the alert.
Love does not delight in evil
But rejoices in the truth
It always protects
Always trusts
Always hopes
Always perseveres
There is one thing I know,
Love never fails to show,
That only three things remain
Nothing you must gain,
But something you receive,
Something you must believe,
Faith
Hope
Love
All three wondrous things,
Something that brings,
Faith to one another,
Hope for none other
Than the greatest of those,
Something that grows and flows,
Love
All that is needed to feel happy,
Is one phrase that is sappy,
I love you,
I love you too.
