Warrior Bethanie
A/N: This poem was inspired by a patient I met at the hospital. She has had long battle all her life with cancer, starting when she was four years old! (She is eleven now, and is not the same friend I've mentioned earlier). She is literally mind boggling because for one so young, she acts as though she is my age! It's amazing how some these kids behave! You would never know their actual age because they are mature beyond sky limits! So, this poem I dedicate to you, Bethanie! Keep on smiling, honey! You can do it!
Your journey remains old
As dust collects on leaves turning marigold.
You've been fighting hard, little one,
And your struggle never seems done.
Don't lose faith when the circles appear incompleted, a shadow gray.
Because the final pieces will thresh together at the end of the day.
You are the treasure I shall keep,
The prayers I will repeat,
Amen.
No matter how tomorrow stings,
I'll never desert my mark.
Your heart always knew,
My light resounds in you!
We'll learn triumph conquers through the shedded tears, all those sad hurts,
Are one communion;
Joined at the hip;
Calvalries of the wars you subvert.
