-Man is but Dog-

Born the same, we Live and Die

Gather one we may, a pet

feed when we must, or treat it

when we want to love, for

that is how it sees it

a quick pat, or a long tuffle

a brief swat on the nose

or a good yell and smack

its life is given meaning by us

or so most think at least

isnt man but a dog

waiting on the kibble bowl

of miracles and worldy gain

to keep us alive,

sometimes fat and plump

others dieing of thirst

storms or punishment

death our rolled up newspaper

or perhaps our final treat

or just when He has had enough

and puts us out on the street.

if Dog sees Man as God,

and Man sees God a well,

then who does God pray to?
