A poem I wrote for my friend, who has a very active imagination. She's been sent to psychiatrists for that, not a fate I'd wish on anyone, and has been downtrodden. On top of all that, she's got a hard life at home, too. This is for you, Heart…

Edit/Update: O-o Wow, I only had this up for five seconds before two people reviewed! And thank you for sharing your story, dreamforever101. I hope you and your friend will reconnect.

A Childish Dream…?

A childish dream?

Perhaps.

But would you really waken her from it?

Shatter her all-too-fragile heart?

Steal away her lonely soul?

Take away my friend?

A childish dream?

That dream is all that keeps her heart from shattering

Into a million crystal pieces.

That dream, as far as it is from home,

Keeps her from flying away in a million tears.

Fights away her deadly fears,

Lets her know she's not alone…

Even when I can't be there for her.

So stay away, lest you wake the sleeping angel,

And kill her dream,

In order to keep your harsh reality alive.

-KatyaChekov, to her friend Heart

May reality never overpower imagination in those who need an escape. At least, not too much… Reviews, please!
