Be gone

For your eyes are too open

They see the blood that frees my heart

They perceive the chains that bind my soul within

Be gone

For the flesh is too weak

It responds to your very thought

It longs to entwine with all of you

Be gone

But you remain standing

Gazing at me – a challenge

Pushing me away and pulling me near

What is this dance which engages

My Heart

Within your hands, within your soul

To wield and to protect

To treasure not to neglect

Or be gone
