Slice Provocation, Kiss Defeat
Restlessly, she turned.
Palms facing the abyss above.
Eyes wide open against the steady dripping of cold perspiration over eyelash.
Crumpled sheets, blood stained.
Musty odor, leering ugliness.
Mind led Body, clutching hands, to the cliff of all answers.
Standing at the edge of the precipice, both turned and smiled at each other.
If you love me, said Body, gazing hungrily into the heady black below them,
Jump and be free.
Embracing Body, Mind gazed hungrily into her eyes.
If you love me, said Mind,
Turn and be one.
And crying softly into the dead of the night,
Begging to be forgiven,
She plunged the dagger deep into her heart.
