A/N - This was a dialouge piece, we were supposed to write about a break-up and make the dialouge believable. This one is kind ofa patchwork quilt of my friends. I borrowed names, plots, and styles of speech from a bunch of my friends. It's a bunch of little pieces of truth that make up something that is completely false. Enjoy!

The cell phone buzzed on his pillow, the screen flashing the name "Ophelia". He eagerly snatched up the phone to answer it.

"Hey babe!" he exclaimed enthusiastically. The grave tone on the other end of the line did not come close to matching his excitement.

"Tim, I need to talk to you"

"Sure, what's up?"

Ophelia breathed in deeply, taking her time. Very slowly and in a soft undertone she told him,

"Tim, this just isn't working out."

"What isn't?"

She cringed to at his cheerful voice. He hadn't caught on. She gathered her courage and spoke again.

"We aren't working out. This whole thing"

Tim paused,

"What do you mean?"

The happiness was edging out of his voice, giving way to fear and uncertainty.

"I mean….." again she breathed deeply, "I mean I don't think we should be together anymore."

The air between them was silent for at least a minute until Ophelia asked timidly

"Tim? Are you still there?"

A few seconds, then a voice hard as stone

"Yes."

Ophelia burst into an explanation in a rushed, panicky voice

"I'm so sorry, it's just that you're so far away and I hate just like talking on the phone and that's it. And you're four years older than me! I'm barely sixteen dude, I should be dating people my own age. I mean, not in a bad way, you're just so much more….." She trailed off, terrified of his silence. The same cold, masked voice replied, fighting hard to veil his anger.

"That's okay. I'll be fine"

Ophelia started up again

"I'm so sorry, it's just"

He cut her off mid sentence.

"Don't worry." He sounded so alone. "I'll be fine."
