It had always been there, that bizarre little hut in the forest. The forest had always been a bit strange, but the micro-organisms closest to the hut seemed to live in reverse, being born out of nowhere and merging with others, instead of splitting and splitting, and fading into nothing when they die. Whenever someone got close to the hut, his or her skin would itch, and boils would start forming on it, boils that were gone before a doctor could have a look at it.

The locals avoided the hut, saying the forest was haunted. It was as if someone came there every day to scrub off the moss and dirt; every day it was more clean than it was the day before.

A reporter for a major newspaper, however, learned of it, some details of the hut, and decided to find out more. As expected boils formed on his skin when he approached the hut, and he backed off, just like all that had so far come near it had done.

A local scientist invited the reporter, showing him the micro-organisms, not much unlike what one would find in the chemical industrial areas of larger cities. The scientist had never put anthing in the microscope slide, he had never used it before. He fastened a string onto the slide, then told the reporter to go into the forest, throw it into the hut, then pull it out and bring it back.

The reported did as he was told, and couldn't believe his eyes when the scientist showed him that there were no unusual micro-organisms left in the slide.

The reporter had gotten an idea of what had happened. He didn't really believe it, but had to find out. He ventured into the forest, gathered all the courage he had in himself, and entered the hut. he found nothing of interest inside, but as he turned to leave, he found that his feet were stuck in a strange goo, a goo that poured in from outside like it would normally pour out of a goo-filled hut. It completely enveloped him, filled the hut, and every cavity in the reporter it could enter.

He was unconscious when the hut made a leap into the sky, some kind of rocket thrusters fired up, and the hut, with the appearance of a futuristic moon lander, vanished into the sky, glowing more and more until it just ceased to be there.
