A/N: Another little story. Sorry if these seems a bit vague. There are a few sentences in here that I didn't really like, but I couldn't figure out how to change. So, enjoy and reviews are lovely.
He wasn't there again. She sighed heavily. Maybe next week. The days went by and finally the week had passed. Still, he wasn't there. She hadn't heard from him for more than a week. She knew that he was away to visit his family somewhere across the country, but she didn't know how long he was going to be there. Normally, she would have gotten a random call or text message on her cell phone, but she hadn't received either of those. She wasn't too worried; it's not like this wasn't the first time he did this to her.
He did warn her that he was leaving, however. She wasn't sure if he told anyone else that he was going to visit his relatives, so she received that liberty. Still, the times she stood up there with the other singing leaders on both Wednesday nights, she looked for his presence. And, like the week before, she was let down. He wasn't there once more. She sat down heavily next to her friends as the preacher stood and began delivering the message. Disappointment flooded through her, but a movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She turned around and there he stood in the doorway, smirking as he looked across the room and caught her eye. She hurriedly turn her attention back to the preacher, a smile forming on her face. After the service while everyone was mingling, he made his way toward her. A brief exchange of wards and both left with smiles on their faces. Their conversation?
"Yo, Zaney."
"Hey, Birdy."
This, of course, could roughly be translated to:
"Welcome back. I missed you."
"Hey, it's nice to be back. I missed you too."
