Not able to look past
Outward appearances;
Quick to label an outcast.
People are scornful
Not wanting to see
That there is a real person
Inside of me.
People are cruel
Not caring to know
How badly their harsh words
Hurt me so.
People are narrow-minded
Not willing to say,
"Hey you're different
But that's okay."
People are hateful
Not stopping to listen.
Just constantly bashing
Like it's their great mission.
Not all people are these things
Oh no some are much worse.
They are much more violent-
They hit, kick, scream, and curse.
For the future I hope
People are open-minded, understanding, free.
But for now, people are blind
Unable to see.
