The Chronicle Red: the Tale of the English Ninja

"INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT!" The warning bells chimed across the fortress of Aguias. "INTRUDER ALERT! ALL SECTS MUST REPORT TO THE MAIN GATEWAY AT ONCE!"

Ah, crap. A masked figured leapt skillfully atop the roofs of houses, desperately trying to get away from the authorities of the town. In her arms, she clutched a large, lumpy object covered in blankets. Hopefully, they won't find out that I've got their-

"THE INTRUDER HAS STOLEN THE AMULET OF AGUIAS AND IT MUST BE RETURNED AT ALL COSTS!"

Damn it! She cursed under her breath as she confronted three soldiers on the rooftop of the house that seemed to belong to a very rich family. Who knew that the people of Aguias were so quick on their feet? She wiped her forehead from the sweat that had accumulated. "Bring it on."

"After him!" the men shouted. They unsheathed their swords and yelled energetically, leaning forward for their attack.

Who is 'him'? The masked figure dodged the men as they lunged towards her with all of their strength. "You guys are definitely not going to beat me with that shoddy footwork," she sneered.

"W-what happened!?" The men screamed as the figured finally drew her dagger and cleanly sliced their necks, leaving their heads just barely attached to their bodies. Then, as quickly as it appeared, the dagger was sheathed and the mysterious black-clothed figure was off again; this time, to the main gate to make her grand escape.

"Augh, crap!" the figure arrived at the main gate, only to be surrounded by seven sections of guards of the Fortress of Aguias, at least one hundred men in each section.

"You're trapped." One of the section captains, most likely the first sect captain, stepped forward. "Hand over the Amulet of Aguias and we promise that your death will be qui-"

But before he had a chance to finish his sentence, the strange figure had already run up to his face and put her dagger to his neck. "I think I'll hang onto it for a little while longer, love," she whispered mischievously in his ear with a sly grin on her face.

"W-who are you?" the captain trembled with fear. How did a lone intruder manage to breach the fortress' walls unaccompanied, let alone steal the most heavily guarded treasure of all of Aguias? One man cannot do such a thing on his own … unless he was a magic user!

The figure snickered. "I know what you're thinking, mate, but I'm no warlock." She stepped back and removed her mask, letting her long, blond hair flow all the way down to her waist. "I'm the one and only English Ninja. But you can call me Ennja for short." And she gave him her thumbs-up and a flirtatious wink.

The captain was flabbergasted. A-a woman!? How could a single woman infiltrate our security measures!? "W-who are you, really?" he dared to ask one more time.

"Well, if you really want to know…" Ennja cleared her throat dramatically, making her sound really corny in the British accent that she always carried. "I am the English Ninja, the red member of the Eternity Thieves! And I act under the great Mistress Dollweaver when stealing this exceptionally beautiful piece of stone." She grinned again, patting the large amulet wrapped in cloth, hidden under her arm. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be off to meet with the rest of the gang and show them the goods I've stolen. Ta-ta!" Then, blowing a kiss to the captain, she whipped out a handful of smoke bombs and threw them to the ground, making her getaway as easy as winking.

"Captain, what do we do? She's getting away!" coughed the lieutenant of the first section, groping his way through the thick gas to make his way to the captain …

"Captain? Captain?! CAPTAIN!?"

… Only to find him dead, with a single note on a red piece of paper pinned into the flesh of his left arm.

"The Eternity Thieves have struck again!
Courtesy of the English Ninja."

Author's Note: LMFAO. Ennja is so out of character in this one. It's really short (sorry, Lori, don't kill me!) but I hope it's a good enough introduction. And hopefully, this will be the first story (that isn't a one-shot!) that I'll ever finish! Bwahaha! 1/8 chapters. Reviews are much loved.
