I Am
I am a row of houses
Little houses in a row
I am the streetlamp on the corner
And its curious orange glow
I am the big oak tree in each front yard
And I am the orange tint behind the windows
An illuminated lamp
Inside the tiny houses
Little houses in a row
I am the glowing blue rectangle
Light from the T.V.
I am the navy sky
Through the leaves on the oak trees
I am the stars, slowly, slowly
Lighting up the night
Over the little houses
Little houses in a row
I am the sidewalk in need of repair
I am the cracks in the pavement
I am a pebble loose beneath your feet
And I'm the tar upon the street
I am the far off scent of smoke
Of someone's bon fire party
I am you and I am me
Walking hand in hand
Under the curious orange glow
Of the corner streetlamp
Beside the tiny houses
Little houses in a row.
