That's it, screw third person this might be better in first. (if these run smoother than expect another full-story-edit.)

I was in disbelief. Alteran? How?

"But- you said that you were from the future!"

"I did, I am."

"But they're gone!"

"From here, maybe."

There was a roar from a place in the cavern, I couldn't tell where. But either way, I needed to be ready to fight. I was still unsure of how the blade worked, so I would have to go with what I do know- It can do some kick ass stuff with energy attacks.

The dragon roared again. From the right! I spun around to find the black dragon staring angrily at me. Samson started warming up the Spirit Gun. "Luke!"

"Uh.. Aiden? We got a problem!"

"Yeah, dumbass, the dragon's behind ya."

I turned around. Sure enough, there was a black dragon, spikes aplenty, and gleaming red eyes. As you can imagine, this pissed me off.

"Aiden, how can Alterans be such a pain in the ass?"

"We have a knack for it. I take the big one."

Big one? They're both fucking huge! "A bit more specific?"

"Take the one that I don't." Aiden drew hid blade. It was black, with a pulsating dark indigo/blue core. He swung the blade, the slicing of air Aural. Aiden jumped with seemingly superhuman, or maybe Alteran strength. I looked nervously at the remaining dragon. Goddammit.

I needed a battle strategy. Maybe if... Yes! That's it!

"Samson!"

"What?"

"Get behind me and provoke him!"

"Yes, PRIVATE." Samson shot off the spirit cannon after getting behind me. It barely grazed the dragon's spikes, but it still enraged it. With a mighty roar, it shot a stream of white-hot energy at me. I raised the blade, confident in it's abilities. Sure enough, it lit up, absorbing the energy blast. This dragon seemed slightly more perceptive than the last one, quickly noticing the lack of death. It released the beam, diving. I looked to see where it was when I came to a horrid realization- the beam had burned the image of the blast into my cornea!

After feverishly looking for the bastard, the burn faded, revealing the dragon speeding forth, a hungry look in it's eyes. I raised the sword, mentally commanding it to release. Come onnnn... Come onnn! Release!

Nothing.

Release!

The dragon was too close. I did the first thing that came to mind- I swung the sword.

I braced myself for impact from the dragon. I felt the blade heat up at an extraordinary rate as it made contact with the dragon in between the eyes. It began to glow purple, and I felt a powerful shockwave send me and Samson flying over the edge. The dragon roared, and I hit the ground with tremendous force.

I stayed laying down on the ground, recovering from the shock of falling 20 feet. I nervously moved my hand, seeing if I had broken anything. Arms worked. I jumped to my feet. Legs worked. Nothing of concern.

Samson was out of it, though. "You alive?" I said, putting my foot on his chest and putting my weight on it. He was defenitley out.

A loud roar came from behind me- apparently the dragon was still kicking. I spun around, trying to get a fix on it. I turned around to see the dragon standing five feet away.

Read streaks ran down the sides of the dragon's face. It began to smell for me. It's eyes! They're gone!

As the dragon caught my scent, I sniffed my armpit. I had to suppress a yelp. I need a shower.

The dragon reared up. I froze, trying to figure out how to get out of this. The dragon opened it's jaws wide, ready to eat me whole, when I heard...

"Move!"

I jumped back just in time to see a streak of dark blue light collide with the dragon, burning through it's skull. The blast of energy decimated the skull, blowing through it. It ripped apart the stalagmite in it's way, smashing into the wall with unparalleled force. The collision released an explosion, the explosion releasing a shockwave so powerful that it tore up all of the stalagmite around it and collapsed the door that the alpha team was stuck behind.

Aiden walked up to the dragon, prodding it's now hollow dead head. "Least I didn't get you too."

The alpha team had somehow made it to the other side of the bridge when the other three were not looking. I could barely tell if all of them made it through, but from 300 feet away, everything looked pretty arbitrary.

"Soo... You're Alteran?"

"Yep."

"How'd you get back in time?'

He sighed. "Imagine time like a stream. The water is time. The current is the flow of time. Basically, i got in a machine and did the temporal equivalent of back-pedaling."

"How are you gonna get back? Are ya gonna freeze yourself?"

Aiden pulled back his right sleeve. The sleeve revealed a pale arm with three watch-like devices on it. One appeared to have no function, the other two had numbers on it. One read, OCT. 18 2048, the other reading 45:12. "See this? The one that says 45:12 on it is something called a 'Temporal Anchor'. If you know shit about anything, you'll know what it does."

I was embarrassed, then remembered I was dealing with a supposed Alteran. "It maintains body temperature?"

"I heard you were of limited mental capacity, but this... Temporal! Time! It ties me to my time so I can get back!"

"Limited mental capacity? Who was the 43rd president of the united states?"

"Who cares?"

I growled. But, you know, he had a point. I decided to challenge him on a different subject. "What's the hardest substance known to man?"

"Octidium."

"What?"

"Octidium. Silicon Tetracarbonate Acride fused with Trideuterium Nonoxygen at cold temperatures."

"That didn't make a lick of sense, you know that?"

"SC(4)Ai+Du3O9 at 1 degree Celsius."

"Still no."

"Shut up."

I started to get angry. Aiden probably noticed, making his silver gun very noticeable. "Hey, where's that flying surfboard?"

"Flying what?"

"The thing you were flying around on."

"That's the air board. It's on the platform."

We finally made it to the platform. And there was a problem.

There was no way up.

I could probably climb, but Aiden couldn't while carrying Samson. Aiden seemed to notice this too. "Oh, well," he said, taking the still unconscious Samson off of his shoulder and throwing him to the top of the platform.

"Ow! What the hell?"

Aiden frowned. "Who's up there?"
"Who's down there!?"

Aiden's response was a bullet. "I asked first."

"None of your business!"

Aiden bent his kneed until his legs almost touched his feet, and jumped.

I gazed in disbelief. He went up... and up... and up... and came level with the platform. His feet silently made contact with the platform, quickly getting his bearings. He pulled out another gun, what looked like an automatic. "It's in your best interest to answer me."

Who I assume was Conan answered. "We are the Alpha team."

"How'd all of you get here?"

"My estimate was bad."

I was getting pretty pissed off at this point. Aiden left me here! "Hey, What about me!"

"Oh, right."

Aiden brought his hands together, fingers interlocking. His index and middle fingers on both hands straightened and lined up, and he moved them over his forehead. At that moment, I felt a powerful force rip me off the ground and into the air. I soared, arching and coming down on the platform. As I angrily stood up, I realized something- that was it! We had finished! I excitedly trembled, yelling out cheerily, "We did it!"

"He's right, we did!"

The group began to shout things like,

"Yes!"

"We did it!"

"About fucking time!"

The group crossed the bridge one by one. They came up to the door. Aiden glanced at the door while Pheonic got the Firefly translating. Aiden quickly said, "The crystal is on the other side, yadda yadda, proven yourselves, yadda yadda, the crystal rests on the other side of the door."

The firefly beeped. "He's right!"

I was surprised, but did not fathom it, quickly pushing on the door. It refused to move. "Great!"

Aiden pushed me back. "You need to open it the old fashioned way."

He curled his hand up into a fist, driving it into the wall. Nothing.

Zesca rolled her eyes. "Idiot, you're worse than Luke."

Aiden grinned. I felt an eerie feeling travel through my body. What was that?

The wall shook, the door crumbling.

My heart was racing as the dust cleared and I ran through the doorway. I shut my eyes to keep out the dust, and opened them to finally see what we had gone through hell for.

To be concluded- Watch for next chapter!
