Chapter 1:

By Searon

Starlyn sat alone at her desk her golden luxurious hair collapsing into her silver eyes as she looked at scrolls. It was late at night and all she wore was a lavender silk nightgown. At least fifty scrolls lay upon her desk, and she studied them rapidly. A voice kept echoing in her mind as clear as day.

"Astra elkarr mestril villett ima anetorr kaztra!"

This was not standard elf language. It was part of a language long forgotten. The dark ones spoke it before the elves eliminated all of them to restore peace to the land of Calthoria. There wasn't much in the existing scrolls about the past; only names of legendary warriors and their battles to rid the land of evil. Starlyn had been looking at scrolls for weeks now with no success about the meaning of that night. Her mother had stabilized, but was not getting any better.

Starlyn took a break from her studies and walked outside her cottage. There were no lights outside, but fireflies lit up the sky all across the yard. Starlyn smiled and then looked up at the sky. Every star in the galaxy shone brighter than ever that night. She remembered how her mother told her how she got her name.

"Look up at those stars honey; you were born on a night like this. I was outside and these stars were shining, and soon I had you in my arms. I remember your hair shone so brightly blond like the stars above the two of us. I knew right away what to name you."

A tear streaked down Starlyn's face. She looked down from the stars and at the pond in her backyard. The calm water sparkled blue in the moonlight. A lone antelope stood by the pond slowly drinking water. She walked over to the animal and grazed its head with her left hand. The antelope stopped drinking from the pond and looked up at Starlyn. After a seconds glance the antelope went back to drinking at the pond.

Starlyn slid her lavender nightgown off of her shoulders and let it rest on the soft dirt in front of the pond. She walked forward and put her left foot in the cool water. She paused for a minute until continuing to get in the pond. Goosebumps travels through her body at the cold bite from the water. Her perfectly proportioned body was such a sight of beauty that no mere human could grasp the perfection.

She bathed in the moonlight under the stars as clouds appeared. A loud clash of thunder rolled around in the clouds and then a strike of lightening startled Starlyn as it shattered a tree across the pond. Her heart collapsed as the life from the tree diminished. Obnoxious rain poured down in the once peaceful forest. The antelope that drank from the pond was nowhere to be seen, and the fireflies were all but disappeared. The darkness of the night surrounded every inch of the pond. Another shrieking bold of lightning struck the far side of the pond, and she watched it in fear. Storms like this did not come unless something tragic was happening.

"My lady…" A proud male elf called from the front of the pond. He stood straight with his black hair blowing in the wind.

Starlyn swam to the front of the pond and began walking out. The pond water glided down her body. The harsh rainstorm penetrated her perfect naked body as she finished walking through the pond. The male elf got lost in a stare at her glorious body before coughing and turning the other way.

A slight smile came across Starlyn's face as she saw this. Even as all elf women were beautiful, more were attracted to her than others. It could be her luxurious blond hair far brighter than any other elf, or the fact that her chest was quite a bit larger than the rest of the female elves. It sure got the males attention, but quite difficult having armor forged that will fit.

"Yes Raven, what have you come to seek from me?" Starlyn asked as she put her gown back on and pulled her soaked hair behind her back.

"We have found a trace of your sister to the north of here." He claimed. He still faced the opposite direction. His face hadn't completely turned pale yet as his cheeks still held a strong red shade.

"She's alive then." Starlyn declared. She looked up at the stars and smiled. The one thing she didn't want was to lose her only sister.

"An arrow of hers was retrieved in a tree in the north. One of those special fire-oak arrows she loves to make. It's only assumed it was from her. Less than a day old." He informed. He tried his best to sound professional, yet his voice could be heard with lust and love towards Starlyn. He couldn't help but feel attraction to her with this new found time helping her.

"How far north?" Starlyn said as she quickly went to her cottage to change into her full body scale armor. She quickly got fitted in her armor and grabbed her emerald broadsword.

"Three days march north," He theorized. He was hopeful for an adventure, but he didn't know if she'd allow him to follow.

"I'll make it in two." She proclaimed. With that she took off into the night with the wind gliding her hair behind her.
