Catarina's POV
"CATARINA" I heard my mother's shrill voice yell up the stairs. I jumped and my pen went flying across the page. I sighed. I guess I would just have to redo that later.
"Yes mother," I called down softly.
"Come down here, we have planning to do." She said, her footsteps getting fainter as she walked into the living room. I slowly got out of my desk chair and walked downstairs, trying as hard as I could not to belabor the coming lecture. The moment I entered the room my mother began fussing.
"I just don't know what I'm going to do with you Catarina. Why didn't you tell me about the lead? I'm just beside myself. You've been home for an hour already and you just went straight up to your room and closed the door, not saying a word to me."
"I'm pretty sure you already knew." I said quietly.
"Don't get that attitude with me," she said, glaring at me slightly. "Anyway I've been noticing that you need to go on a diet or you won't be able to fit into your outfit."
"Mom I'm already on a diet," I protested weakly.
"Well obviously that one isn't working, you look horrible." I lowered my head, knowing I wouldn't win the argument. "From now on this is what you will eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner." I looked up and she handed me an energy bar. No sugar.
"Mom, I'm not going to be able to function on just this." I said even though I knew arguing was futile.
"I will not have my daughter in the lead roll looking like a cow. Now go back up stairs, there's your dinner." She turned and walked into her "office." I went upstairs and sat down again at my desk. Opening my laptop, I pulled up aim to see if there was anybody online. Ellie was the only one on that I wanted to talk to.
BalletGeek: Hey
SuperChick: Hey Cat, what's going on?
BalletGeek: just got back upstairs from meeting with my mother… you?
SuperChick: about to go eat dinner. What'd your mom want?
BalletGeek: new diet. This sucks. I can only have one sugarless energy bar for each meal.
SuperChick: dude you're mom is a Nazi when it comes to that.
BalletGeek: yeah I know
SuperChick: Well you can look at it this way… at least you have school and that means you can eat whatever you want during lunch and she won't know the difference.
BalletGeek: well yeah but you know her… she'll be able to tell
SuperChick: I'll help you figure it out don't worry
SuperChick: listen I'd love to stay and chat but I've really got to do my homework
BalletGeek: yeah me too… I'll see you tomorrow
SuperChick: 'night babe… and don't let your mom get to you
BalletGeek: thanks… 'night
SuperChick went away at 6:03:48 pm
I spent the rest of the night doing homework. When I got in bed that night my stomach was growling. I groaned and rolled onto my side. I prayed that I would have enough energy to dance at the show even when I could hardly stand.
Darren's POV
"Bro I've got it all set up." My brother informed me as he walked into my room. I looked up from my homework and raised an eyebrow.
"Set what up?"
"Your date." He said happily. I groaned and put my head in my arms.
"Damn it," I swore. I felt a thump on my back and sat up.
"Tony do I have to?"
"Of course you do because you promised me and I promised both your date and mine and the Berring brothers never break promises." He said.
"I hate you," I groaned again.
"Yeah whatever you say bro, but you know you could never hate me." He looked thoughtful for a minute.
"You know now that I think about it if you had just come to that party then there wouldn't be an issue now would there?" he asked. I threw a pencil at his head and he glared at me.
"Whatever now leave, I've got to finish my homework." He got up and walked to the door. "Just to let you know we're going to be going to that dance thingy next week because apparently that's where Crystal and her friend want to go apparently it's some big showcase recital or something like that."
"At least I won't have to talk," I murmured. I felt the pencil hit the back of my head and I turned around to glare at my brother.
"Be nice or I'll just keep setting up dates for you." He informed me, skipping out of the room. I grimaced. Sometimes I wondered if my brother was actually gay.
A/N
I know this chapter really didn't go anywhere and it's very short for the amount of time that I've been waiting to get it out, but I thought I'd try to get another chapter up for those of you that have read it. I hope to have the next chapter out by tomorrow because I have had lots of time to work on it.
My other stories also have been going awesome. I'm doing a lot of updates this weekend because I've had the equivalent of a 5 day weekend so I've been busy working. Read my other stories as well… I promise you won't be disappointed (two of them I'm especially proud of High School Drama and Trouble in Paradise if only it were that simple
I must admit I kind of forgot I had this story going to I apologize and I hope to update more often in the coming weeks. I'd like to get this story finished by at least March if possible. So we'll see how it does… stay tuned!
Many thanks to miss-blackhair and delusional101
