Adeline looked at herself from the mirror. She looked slender in that dusty old dress she saved for her first date in the closet. It was black and H shaped. She slipped on a gold heart necklace, that she bought for herself and sometimes pretended to be from an ex. She sighed, she really really REALLY hoped that Tom would like her! She whimpered, and sat on her bed. The doorbell rang and her heart raced. "Coming!" she shouted, and she ran out the door. She slipped on the way to her stairs, and yelped as she hit to the ground.

"AHH!" she had forgotten her purse. She ran back up the stairs, hoping that Tom wouldn't leave. She slammed open the door, and quickly grabbed her purse. She ran down the stairs, and sighed a sigh of relief when she opened the door, and Tom was standing there. "You look nice." Tom said, looking her over. He smiled at her, she was very cute. She thanked him, her heart beating so fast and her mood bursting with pride that her dress 'was nice'.

She smiled at the moon, until she saw Tom walking to his car. She slammed the door, and she ran after him. The two sat in the car, staring out at the streets. They reached into City Street, and passed by many glorious and glamorous restaurants, clubs, shops, hotels, motels, etc. Tom stopped at an expensive looking restraint, and parked around the curb. He wanted to open the door for Adeline, but she quickly opened it and it slammed him in the face. "Ow," he said. "Gah!" she retorted, "I'm so sorry." She took her hand and put it on his face. He froze and his eye met hers.

Time seemed to stand still, and the two started observing the details of each other. Tom's eyes softened, and he leaned in, taking her face in his rough hands. Adeline gulped…

Please don't let this mess up.

PLEASE!

She closed her eyes, as a soft pair of lips met hers. His tongue licked her lips, and she froze… what do you do now? He pulled away, and raised an eyebrow at her embarrassed red faced look. A moment of silence passed by, "Uh…" she was nervous, her heart beating. She turned on her heels, and ran. She knew it would be a disaster! She was born to be a hermit living in the woods, telling fortunes for all the hormone crazy teenage couples.

She sobbed as she ran, tears flying in the air. Her heel broke and she fell on the floor. She looked at her broken heel, those cost $200! She grabbed the heel, and stared at it… as if it would glue itself back onto her heel if she stared at it enough. Nope, not working. She sighed as she threw it on the floor. What was she doing? She stood up, her heart low in her stomach. She was such a drama queen, always overreacting… but she knew that Tom would dump her...

After freaking out, and all that nice stuff. Boy, did she feel like a pleasant person. She walked back to the restaurant, and found a phone booth. She dialed her best friend's (Victoria Jules) phone number. "Victoria?" she asked. "Adeline?!" Victoria asked, as if she were surprised. "Yeah, um, can you- can you give me a ride?" Adeline said, her voice thin, trying so hard not to cry. "Oh… I'm a little busy right now..." Victoria said, and Adeline bit her lip. She was not going to cry, not going to cry! "I'm afraid you won't be needing a ride," a voice said, and a rough familiar hand replaced hers, putting the phone back into it's receiver.

She turned on her heels- well, heel. "Tom?" she asked, her voice breaking. He was smiling down at her, his eyes soft and full of adoration. He thought she was really, really cute strangely, from what she had done. He googled her though, and found out that she had gotten fired from many jobs, and some people even blogged about her.

This crazy new worker in our office…

Can't do a decent day's work…

SO ANNOYING!

I want to smash her head open, and eat her brain like stew… well, if she had a brain. Ha ha. I am so clever…

I have diarrhea and all I can think about is that new girl in the office, Adeline Beam, who is such a pestilence.

But he thought she was cute. She made him feel excited, so very very excited… and in both ways. He kissed her, her back hitting the phone. Adeline strangely knew what to do, and she slipped her hands around his neck. They began to kiss, and Adeline ignored that bruised feeling in her back from the phone.
