She sat there staring at her father waiting for him to talk. He didn't move he sat there staring right back at her, until finally he took a deep breath and opened his small mouth.
"You know that this Friday is my business party"
"Yeah, so"
"Do you have a date?"
"Sort of"
"Don't lie to me Ella, Rach told me you had no plans on going"
She said nothing
"Is that true Ella, were you not going to show up, this is a big day for me, and your not even going to show, what kind of daughter would do that sort of thing to their own father" he said
She knew exactly what kind of daughter would do that. A daughter who was showed not to care, a person who wanted to be loved by one person, and never got that love. Ella loved her father more then the world, but the new her hated him with all her soul. When Ella was a girl, her father was always with Ella, but once Rachel came, he showed no interest in Ella. It was as if she was a rag doll you throw away once you get a new one. She hated that; she hated the way that he only cares about her schoolwork then her. He never asked her about her day, only about work. Did you turn in your English homework, how did you do on that history test? He never seemed to care much for Ella, which made hating him so much easier.
"Ella, are you listening"
"Yeah"
"Good then I except you to be there at 8:00pm with a guys arm wrapped around your thin arm, do I make my self clear"
"crystal"
She got up and walked out the door. She made it at school right before the bell rang, which she didn't care much about. She walked into class and planed to sit down away from everyone, but that planed failed, since every seat was taken, except for the one in the front of the sub. She sat down and didn't look up.
"Ella"
She raised her hand
"Can you say here, please?" this young mans voice said
"Here"
"Good girl" he said patting her head, everyone began to laugh
She looked up and saw this beautiful man, his blond hair fell slightly covering his dark blue eyes, he seemed to be in his late twenties, it was to hard to tell, but one thing she knew for sure was that he looked familiar
"I'm not a dog", she said
"I never said you were" he smirks
"Fag" she said and began to draw
"Excuse you"
"What" she said not looking up
"What did you say?"
"Nothing"
"It didn't seem like nothing"
"Well it was nothing"
"Please stay after class"
"What, what for"
She said putting down her pencil and looking up at his beautiful dark blue eyes
"Well Ella, you are staying after class for disrespecting me"
"That's a load of bull"
"Oh goody, let's make that after class and lunch" he smirked
"That is not fair"
"Would you like to add after school too?"
She stayed quite and didn't take her eyes off him. Who did he think he was, the king of the world, he is just a sub, not even a real teacher.
She began to bite on the pencil once the bell rang; she thought if she bit on that then she wouldn't be able to get her self in more trouble. Once all the kids left he closed the door and locked it. He began to walk toward her, a grin planted on his face.
"Ella you have changed so much, I didn't even recognize you, when you walked in."
"What the hell?" she asked confused
"I didn't even know it was you until, I read your whole name" he said ignoring her
"I can't believe how sexy you have become", he said sitting on the seat next to her
She said nothing
"You don't remember me," he asked
"No, and if you don't tell me who you are, I'm going to scream"
He smiled and touched her hand
"It's me Joey, your old neighbor, Wendy's brother"
She sat there with a confused faced. Sure she remembered him, she just didn't really remember. It's like she knows who he is but she never really thought about him when he left. Joey was Wendy's older brother; Ella had a crush on him when she was 9 years old. Joey was about 8 years older then her. He was a sweet guy, he played with her and Wendy, and every time Wendy and Ella had a fight he would always pick Ella's side.
He knew that Ella liked him, that's why he would always help her and protect her, he loved her too, but in a sisterly way, well that was what he thought until he saw her walk into that class room that morning.
Joey left when he was 18, he had deiced to go to college in New York, when he left Ella was devastated. She loved him; well at a young age she thought she knew what love meant. Every year on her birthday she would receive a letter from him but that letter stopped coming once she reached 15. She had written to him every day since he left but that stopped once she met Elliot. She never had seen Joey since the day he left, he just never came back, she would know, Wendy lived right next to her.
"Ella do you remember me"
"What are you doing here?" she said taking her hand away
"Ella, I'm living here now"
"Why"
"I got a job here"
"What"
"I'm your new teacher"
"Oh, well I guess I should be leaving"
"What why, I think we should talk"
"About?"
"How your life is going?"
"Its going good, not that you care"
"I care"
"If you cared you would have called"
"You could have called too"
"Your right, I guess I just forgot about you"
"Hard to believe since you were madly in love with me" he said with a grin
"Well things change"
"Your heart doesn't"
"Well mine does"
"So are you saying you don't love me"
She laughed
"Are you serious, I loved you when I was 10, that wasn't love that was puppy love, I had no real feelings for you"
"Oh yes you did. He said getting close to her face and you're about to fall back in love with me, since you'll be seeing me everyday"
"Don't count on it", she said getting up
"Don't forget Ella, you have to be here at lunch"
Joey, was just a crush, she was never in love with him. She remembered the first time Wendy and Joey moved in next door; Ella was 7 years old, Ella was sitting down on the porch waiting for her dad and Rachel to come back from the zoo. Ella wasn't allowed to go with them because she had a ballet lesson and she couldn't miss it. Their Ella was sitting down in her pink Toto, with her long black hair tied up in a bun, when this big moving truck stopped next door. Ella looked over and saw this girl her own age and this boy who was older but he was perfect in Ella's eye. Ella sat there staring at them, when the boy out of nowhere turned and smiled at Ella, Ella smiled back but began to look at the floor, 10 seconds later, the boy was standing right in front of Ella
"Hi I'm Joey"
"Hi" Ella whispered
He smiled, "what are you doing out side"
"Waiting"
"For what"
"My dad and sister"
"Where they go"
"To the zoo" Ella said putting her head on her hands looking up at his blue eyes
"Why didn't you go?"
"I had to dance"
"Dance?"
"Yeah, I know ballet" Ella said with a smile
"Oh can I see?" he said sitting down next to her
"Yeah, but you can't look"
"Then how can I see?"
"Umm I don't know" Ella laughed
"How about I dance with you"
"Yay, will ya"
"Sure"
And then they danced, 5 minutes later, Wendy came out, and once she came out, Joey went in. That was how Ella became best friends with Wendy, that was also the day she said she was going to marry Joey. Things never last.
She walked into the lunch area, just to see if she saw Linda, she wanted to tell her that she couldn't help her with her English paper since she had to stay in with the new teacher, but once she went inside Wendy was by her side.
"Hey Ella" she said putting an arm over her shoulder
"Why don't you come eat with us?" Wendy said leading her to their table.
"Umm no, I have to go"
"Where" she asked in a surprised voice
"Detention"
"Oh with my brother" she said with a smile
"Yup"
"I knew there had to be a reason for you to turn me down", she said with a smirked
She looked at her and saw Linda behind her, she pushed Wendy's arm off her and walked to Linda.
"Hey I'm not done talking to you" Wendy yelled
She ignored Wendy and walked with Linda out side.
"I wont be able to help you, I got detention"
"What were you doing with her?" Linda asked
"Nothing she just came up to me"
"That's weird"
"Yeah I know"
"Maybe she wants you to be friends again"
"Not in this life time" she said with a smile
"Well I got to go, see you after school" she said and walked toward her death
She walked toward the last desk in the corner, he looked up from his paper, and his blue eyes followed her. He put down his paper once she sat down; he smiled at her and looked at the clock.
"Your 5 minutes late" he said
"Blame your sister," she said taking out her notebook
"Well I guess its fine since you guys are best friends"
She chuckled
"What"
"We aren't best friends, we aren't even friends"
"Why not"
"Stuff happen" she said
"Like what"
"None of your business" she said beginning to draw his face inside her notebook
"Well since she's my sister I should know"
"Then ask her"
"Fine I will, maybe when we are all at dinner"
"What" she said messing up in his lips
"Your parents have invited us over for dinner tonight, since I am back"
"Great, I get to see your ugly face while I eat"
"Come on you know I'm not ugly, remember you were in love with me"
"Oh God, are you ever going to forget that, I mean come on I was 10, are you that pathetic, that you wont let go a little crush I had when I was 10" she said looking at him
"Well I'm just telling you, I wouldn't want you to be in love with me while I'm like your teacher"
"Well if you stay out of my way, then I will forget you are even here," she said closing her notebook and getting up
"Where you going"
"To class, the bells about to ring"
"Well you aren't going, sit down, I don't have a class for this period, why don't you keep me company"
"I need to go to class"
"Ill write you a note"
"Fine, I hate history anyways"
"Well you wont miss much, well be talking about our history", he said with a grin
"Wake me up when you're done" she said putting her head on the table
"Nope your listening to what I'm going to say"
"Ugh if I have to"
So she listened
He talked about the first day he brought his girlfriend over for dinner and Ella was there with a big smile on her face until she saw the girl.
She remembers that day as if it just happens; Ella was in Wendy's room playing dress up, when her mom called them for dinner. They walked down the stairs laughing and smiling, but Ella's smile faded when Ella saw Joey holding hands with a tall red head. The red head smiled and pitch Ella's cheeks and called her a sweetheart, Ella looked at Joey and Joey smiled, then Ella cried and screamed. Joey frowned and asked Ella why she was crying but Ella wouldn't stop crying and when he tried to hold Ella, Ella would punch and kick. Wendy's mom came and took Ella to Wendy's room. Ella didn't come out until the girl left.
"Well why did you cry" he asked
"I don't remember"
But she did, she hated that girl, because she was with him and Ella could never be with him.
"Oh I guess you really didn't like me"
"Yeah I guess I didn't" she said and left
When she got home, she found her mother cooking, she tried to walk pass her with out her noticing, but once again she failed
"Ella, Joey is back, we invited them for dinner, I bought you a dress and I would like it if you wear it"
"I'm not wearing any dress"
"Please, you already have a boy hair cut, put on the dress, I don't want them thinking you turned into a man"
"Nope I don't care what they think"
"Ill give you 20 bucks if you wear it"
"Deal"
She said and walked toward her room to face her doom.
