Intrologue

We were just three regular teenagers. We were all in the tenth grade and had no care in the world. All that were on our minds were boys, make-up and such. We were normal.

Namely, we were Sasha Rivers, Jenine Rains and Geri Ponders.

Sasha was the outgoing, daring and the most flirtatious of us three. She was the redhead that loved trying out new styles and would one day be the prom queen. She wanted to become an actress one day and win many important awards and become world-famous. She had the biggest ambition of us three.

Geri was the smart Gothic one; you would never see her without her thick black eyeliner, dark maroon painted lips, and of course, her never disappearing pen and notebook at her side. She was the Brains of the group and never failed to remind her girlfriends to study.

Jenine was the friendly one. She was the one who you knew could turn your frown upside down and would make you see 'the silver lining'. She was the cheerleader, the peace-maker, the shoulder to lean on that you were certain would always be there for you.

We were just a normal group of friends.

Then one fateful day our lives changed-our universes turned upside-down and inside-out. Everything we thought we knew was questioned and we didn't know what was real and what wasn't. We all changed. Everything changed.

Suddenly we could all do things that we didn't even dream to be possible. Sasha – she could change her appearance into anything she wanted it to be. She was the shape-shifter. She could even become invisible. Geri was the telepathic one. She could read minds, control them and could even speak to people without talking. Jenine was the controller, being able to bend the environment around her to her will-including electricity.

We suddenly had enemies. They called themselves the Ellipsiens. They were demonic creatures, working only and for Evil Itself. We learned that they could be anywhere and in control of anything, and that for as long we were around, everything could be safe. We were the new generation of Protectors, coming down from a line of mystic and carefully hidden proportions.

We knew that together, we were elite and powerful. We would use our powers for good and not for evil. It was something that we would learn to live by, for when we abused our powers we were one step closer to the Dark Side.

We call ourselves the Guardians of the Rings.
