Chapter 12
Vasska was unable to believe that Drake had managed to make another good shoot in. He felt his nose, feeling the warm stickiness of his blood which was now flowing freely down his face. Vasska looked up at Drake in sheer disbelieve. "So, we're back to this are we?"
"Yeah, get on your feet creep and let's finish this!" Drake yelled, moving to lift his hands, ready for a fight.
Vasska jumped to his feet and whipped the blood away from his lips and chin, all the while looking at Drake. Without a single warning, Vasska stepped forward and swung hard at Drake. Drake blocked with his left arm and he countered by bringing his right fist up and caught Vasska in the stomach causing him to stumbled back, clutching his stomach. Pausing only a moment, Vasska stepped forward and swept the feet from under Drake. Not stopping there Vasska tried to kick Drake in the side, but moving just as fast, Drake started to roll away from Vasska and scrambled to his feet. Once back on his feet Drake charged Vasska, and tried to ram him in the stomach, but Vasska rolled out of the way at the last second and tripped Drake up, and sent him flying. Moving quickly, Drake was once again on his feet and glared daggers at Vasska.
"You are such a prick Vasska," Drake spat, walking calmly over to his opponent. "You insult Kaida, who you say you love so much more than me. You treat her like she's some kind of trophy and you are just a horrible person!"
"You've already said this shit Drake!" Vasska yelled his reply. "If you're trying to make me madder than what I already am, it's not gonna work! You repeat yourself too much Drake!"
Vasska shot forward surprisingly quickly, and caught Drake in the left cheek, casing him to stumble back with shock. Rubbing his cheek a moment staring down Vasska, moving quickly, sending a right hook to Vasska's own left cheek.
Unfortunately for Vasska, they had managed to get close to the Gate, and he managed to stumble back into it. Drake had Vasska pinned against the Gate.
"Now, I can get my revenge from all the other times all the things you've done to me" Drake growled, with a fierce grip on Vasska's shoulder. Without a second's hesitation, Drake drove his right fist into his stomach, knocking the wind from Vasska's lungs.
If Drake hadn't been holding Vasska up, he would've doubled over from the impact. Drake stared into Vasska's eyes, breathing very heavy, like he was trying to control his anger. Seeing a moment of weakness, after mustering up as much strength as he could, Vasska took in a deep breath and using his right hand, returned the same blow Drake had just delivered to him. Drake, spotted the attack a second before, and stepped back, just enough to lesson the blow, but was still caught hard. Bending forward from the pain with his arms wrapped around his stomach, Drake took a second to recover and then sent his right fist has hard as he could against Vasska's face, knocking the knight backwards against the Gate with a hard, loud clank.
Being at a loss of breath, Vasska slumped to the ground, gulping for the air around him. Drake stepped back a couple paces and stared at the top of Vasska's bowed head, breathing just as heavy from his rage.
Meanwhile Kaida was helping Gesine clean up her Potion's Room, when she heard this weird noise coming from outside. After organizing the books she had on her arms in alphabetical order, Kaida walked over to the only window in the Tower and looked down into the courtyard. There's on the other side of the Gate, stood Drake looking down at the base of it. Following his gaze, Kaida spotted Vasska's looking like he was knocked out cold! "Oh, my God," Kaida whispered to herself, before she turned and headed for the exit.
"Where do you think you're going?!" bellowed Gesine, seeing Kaida as she ran out the door. "What's gotten her all upset?" Gesine walked over to the window and seen them. She couldn't see Vasska's face, but if Drake's bloodied one was enough, she realized they had just finished a fist fight. She sighed…
Kaida had busted out of the door and was running full tit towards the Gates "Drake! Drake!" she was screaming as loud as she could. When suddenly, a massive green thing appeared in her line of view.
Unable to stop in time, she ran right into it and realized it was one of the dragons. She could hear Drake calling out to her, over the growls on the… male dragon.
'Damnit! Damnit!' she cried in her head. She was so close and still this stupid dragon wouldn't let her any closer. "Let Me Through Damnit!" she screamed at a pitch that hurt her throat but she didn't care.
The growling at stopped, but he still didn't move. Since he wouldn't move, she would. Taking a step back, she looked up – he was on his stomach. Fine. She took a couple more steps back and ran as hard as she could. She managed to run up his side a bit, but hand to pull herself the rest of the way up. Once on the dragon's back, she looked around and seen Drake, trying to open the Gate. Jumping down quick, feeling the dragon start to move, Kaida dropped to the ground with a hard thud. She scrambled to her feet, ignoring the painful tingling that was traveling up her legs and into her spine.
Within a couple minutes of running, Kaida finally felt Drake's hands engulf her own hand, and then his lips on the tips of her fingers.
"Kai…" Drake sighed, moving a hand to the back of her head and placed his forehead against hers. "I was so worried, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, and I missed you so much!" Kaida answered gripping his shirt with her free hand. "What about you? Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine" He smirked at her, it was obvious that he was in pain with the small twitches his arms gave off. "But don't worry, I'll get you out of here soon enough! I promise!"
Kaida nodded, and then blinked as she felt something wrap around her middle. She looked down and had just enough time, to let go of Drake before the Male Dragon ripped her away from him. A string of colourful curses rang past her lips, causing Drake to smirk a little more to himself. Very rarely did Kaida swear that much, but when she did, it was usually very humors.
As this was going on, Gesine was calmly walking down the stairs. She watched al little as she let Drake and Kaida have a moment before she ordered one of her dragons to take Kaida away from the Gate. Ignoring everything after Kaida was so nice to point out 'Gesine you're a retched wicked old Hag!' There was something else after that, but Gesine tuned it out before it reached her ears. She walked over to the Gate, and looked at Drake, before she stepped right through the Gate, without actually opening it and looked at her son. Vasska looked back up at his mother with a small groan, his body expressing its protest at the movement.
"This is what you get, when you decide to pick fights" She sighed, addressing both of them.
Moving stiffly, Vasska moved from his butt, to his knees and then finally to his feet, all the while using the Gate behind him as support. He glared daggers at Drake, before turning to his mother "Mother, I need to avenge my honour. I will not stand to being beaten like this!"
"Oh, that's fair!" Drake snapped back, getting in Vasska's face. "Get your Mommy to help you fight me. That's real manly Vasska! You Wussy!"
This caused another argument between them, and Gesine just stood there, listening to them bicker. Finally, she cleared her throat and quickly got their attention. "Alright. Vasska, you wish to try and regain your honour? Then I will give you that chance."
Stepping back a couple paces, Gesine raised her arms and started to speak in the same language that she used before. The strange words that seemed to entrance you, and draw you in, curious as to what the words meant and what will happen after the words were spoken. Once the words were spoken, the drifted on the wind a moment before the wind dead completely. The sky quickly turned yellow, while at the same time, the light gery brick of the Tower and Gate turned a darker shade while the maroon roof turned an indigo blue colour. Even the black iron bars of the Gate turned a stark white colour. As the Tower and Gate changed colour, so did the few trees in the area. Turning from their lush green, into different shades of Ice Blue. And lastly – and most strange – the grass turned into a periwinkle colour. The only thing that didn't change colour, was the dragons, and the people!
"What the hell?" Drake spoke aloud looking around, with this weird look on his face.
"You wish to fight, so I shall let you fight!" Gesine spoke a couple more words. Which caused Drake and Vasska to be healed, and have all their energy back. A few more of the strange words and swords appeared in their hands.
"This is perfect!" Vasska yelled, his eyes glinting happily. "Now, you'll be going down Drake!"
Drake didn't look so sure about this anymore. He wasn't as skilled as Vasska was with a blade. Technically Vasska had two lives worth of experience for training with a sword. Until now, there had been only a couple other times that Drake had lifted a blade, and they had been for display only!
"Prepare yourself for your final defeat!" Vasska cried out, before charging Drake and swung his sword horizontally to try and slice Drake stomach open, but luckily, Drake managed to block the attack and jumped way back. They had no armour on, and Drake was at a serious disadvantage.
I'm not exactly sure if the fight at the start sounds good or not. I have trouble with writing that kind of thing, and I couldn't find anyone willing to help me go over it and make it sound better. So I hope it at least sounds alright.
Also, I'd like to inform you who actually decide to read this one, that I'm putting it on pause. I'm not sure how many more chapter there will be after this one, but they are currently being stopped. If you have an objections - let me know...
