This is My Love
by Jenecis
I'm suffocating you, I know,
I'm just so afraid to let you go.
The touch of you makes me alive,
So how could you think, I will survive?
With no you, within my arms,
Suddenly exposed at the cruel world's harms.
The light is blinding, sharp and clear,
It is only you that I want here.
I live for your breath alone, your touch,
Can't you see that I love you this much?
How could you expect me to settle for less?
When you exist, who wants second best?
I desire only you, my prince, my crow,
It is thoughts of you that keeps me on the go.
Alas what is wrong, my sweet sweet dear?
Your pupils dilate, eyes clouding with fear.
Why are you gasping for breath, for that air?
When I am here, am I not just as fair?
Fairer than I? Is that what you said!
I implore the name of the other woman in your bed!
So I can track her down, hunt that whore!
And make her pay, perhaps even more!
Please don't lie to me, I know you must love another,
For why are you now repulsed by me as your lover!
My hand is warm wrapped around your torso,
This never-ending embrace shows my love and even more so.
But why do you struggle and squirm away?
You need a life of you own, did you say?
But, my darling, I do not understand,
Apart from us, life is a wasteland.
The only thing we need is each other,
For without this union, we will suffer.
We don't need others, they are pollution.
But have no fear, I have the perfect solution.
To keep us from never being apart,
I shall drive this dagger through our heart.
If I can't have you, no one ever will.
So stop fighting, and keep Goddamn still.
Smile, my dear, as we greet our mortal fall,
For Death is the fairest bride of all.
I originally intended to write a poem about what is it like being in love and being afraid to lose it, but then my muse compelled to make it stronger, and before I knew it, a new poem with a new life sprawled across the computer screen. Written in one setting, the words seemed to have a mind of their own as they triggered one after the other. Darker than I had intended. Sinister.
