CHAPTER 6: FINISHED
The claws scraped across my face. I was then knocked back with a punch before I could even comprehend the claws.
Hitting the bleachers I slowly stood up pressing my hands to my face. I pulled them away to see that my hands were covered in my own blood. I then tried to scream, but the fear was too extravagant within me at that moment to scream. I just looked up at the hulking wolf beast. He walked halfway over to me and paused. I saw a glint in his eye at which point he flew with incredible speed. I got another punch to the gut only this one hurt twice as much.
"Pathetic," he claimed to me. "I'll be doing this country a service by killing you off."
"No!" I pulled my self up and threw a graceful sidekick but he quickly disappeared. At which point I turned as fast as I could to see him for a split second before he vanished once again. I then fell as I was knocked from behind.
The demon stared down on me. "DIE!" He kicked me up in the air, placed his knee into my stomach, and uppercutted me into the air, at which point he slammed me back to the ground.
"Maybe I can't win," I said in the midst of pain, which was all through my body.
"Yes, feed me, make me even more powerful! This is my world, here the weak die and strong survives, and here everybody but me is weak." He cackled.
I sat on the floor, broken, bloody, and battered to a pulp. I didn't want to feel pain anymore. It was the worst feeling in the world. My entire life was based around pain; my father beat me, heard my mom tell her friends how she wished she never had me, and Sarah, oh god-she now doesn't want me, by cheating on me, she and everyone else contributed to my pain. This brought me to this place. I want to return, I know I can make the best of it. I can redeem myself if given the chance.
I rose up, looking at the demon, at which point he smiled at the expressionless look on my face. But that expressionless feature was replaced by an angry look. I stared down at him and he did the only thing he could, attack. But when his punch connected with my chest his hand began to crumble. "What!?" he was confused.
"I understand now. Pain gives you power, doubt gives you the ability to hurt. Well what happens when you have neither?" I asked.
"Would you really retreat back to your world, when there's nothing but pain?"
"No, I am retreating to a world that has hundreds of beautiful things. There's pain yes, but also happiness." I answered.
"No!" he screamed.
I balled up my fist and released a final punch to his chest in which case it ripped right through him. I pulled my hand back and watched him stagger. A large red light escaped from him and it surrounded the entire room.
A flash blinded me and I propped up with a bunch of students looking at me. My teacher to, was curious as she asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, couldn't be better." I smiled. I then felt my face to find those claw marks were even gone.
I actually felt good. It had been a long time since I had felt such joy, the joy of living. Never again would I wallow in self-pity. I was ready to begin my life, no it has already begun.
THE END!
