Chapter One

"Hey, girls, come here a minute, will you?"

Catkae and Kathy, two of the world's best secret agents stood up from the table they had been sitting at, and followed their boss to his office. They had been waiting all day to find out what their new assignment was. After their last job, which they'd finished months ago, they'd been very bored. Now, at last, they had something new to do!

"What's going on?" Catkae asked as she took a seat next to Kathy.

Jackson Williams, an elderly man in his late forties looked at the two teenagers. They were only eighteen. He still wasn't sure about what he was going to do. "Well, we've had some problems with some of our newest equipment."

"What kind of problems?" Kathy asked. "Because, if the equipment has been exploding, that would explain the loud noises I've heard when I try to go to sleep at night!"

Jackson waved his hand in a dismissing manner. "No, nothing like that. In fact, I'm afraid it's even worse then that."

"Ooh, this sounds good!" Catkae said, leaning forward in her seat. "Do tell!"

Jackson sighed. He might as well get it over with. "Do you remember Clint Crow?"

Kathy made a face. "How could I forget?" She turned to her friend. "Kae, wasn't he that guy who quit because he wasn't made a secret agent?"

Catkae thought for a moment before remembering. "Oh yeah! Dang, he was such a whiner!"

"I see you do remember him," Jackson said, regaining the girl's attention. "Well, it seems that he's tampered with our time traveling devices. Meaning, he's taken one, and gone back in time. He may change the entire course of history!"

There was silence for a moment while the girls contemplated the consequences of this situation. Suddenly Catkae jumped up from her chair, clapping her hands excitedly.

"Does this mean we get to go back in time!?"

Jackson nodded, and ran a hand through his thinning hair. "Yes, I'm afraid it does."

"YES!"

"Hold on a second, Catkae!" Kathy said, calming down her overexcited friend. "We have to be careful. If we made just one mistake, we may change everything in the modern world!"

Catkae finally calmed down, and adopted an air of seriousness. "Oh, sadness."

Kathy turned back to her boss. "When do we leave?"

Jackson shrugged. "As soon as we can get the time travel devices ready."

Meanwhile, back in the time…

Lee Laval, a seventeen-year-old girl with long, brown hair ran through the streets of the village, Tynel. She'd lived here her entire life. It was a really boring village. Nothing ever happened here. She would have left years ago, but her brother was in no position to leave, and she was reluctant to leave him all alone.

Lee didn't have many friends. Everyone thought she was weird. And yeah, she was a little weird… okay, she was really weird. She didn't wear girl's clothes. She hated dresses. Instead, she wore the clothes that her older brother had grown out of. They were much more comfortable then what she was supposed to wear.

Also, she didn't do anything girly. She acted like a guy, and because of this, none of the girls she met liked her. But hey, she'd gotten lots of boyfriends!

Opening the front door of her house, Lee skidded to a halt, but not before running into her brother…

"AH! Lee, watch where you're going!"

"Sorry, bro. I was in a hurry. I have you seen that knife I bought yesterday?"

Isaccian held up the desired object way out of Lee's reach. "Oh, you mean this?"

Lee made a grab for her knife, but her brother swung it the other way. "Issie, give it back!" Lee pleaded.

Isaccian shook his head. "Not until you explain how this ended up under my pillow this morning!"

Lee grimaced. Oops, she'd forgotten to take her knife out of its hiding place! It wasn't her fault that Isaccian's pillow was the only hiding place left for it!

"I'm sorry! It won't happen again, now give it back!"

Isaccian grinned deviously. "What's the magic word?"

Lee rolled her eyes. "Please."

Finally, her brother handed over the knife. "See? That wasn't so hard, was it? So what do you need the knife for anyway?"

"Mark's horse got stuck in some weird wire stuff, and I'm gonna help get it out. So how was work?"

Isaccian worked in the royal stables, helping with the horses every day. The pay was good, but Lee knew that wasn't why Isaccian liked working there. He worked there because Princess Sari would come down to the stables every day so she could ride her horse, and Isaccian had a major crush on the princess.

"It was good. Buttercup's leg finally healed." Lee nodded. Buttercup was one of the horses that her brother had to take care of.

"Is that it? Did you get to see the princess?" Lee grinned. "Or are you just too lovesick to talk about it?"

Isaccian glared at her. Lee knew that he hated it when she teased him. "LEE!"

"AHH!"

Lee ran out of the house, and back to where Mark and his horse were waiting for her.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the village…

Ashki shook herself for the thousandth time, trying to keep herself from falling asleep. Ashki, along with the rest of the people she worked with were all getting tired of waiting for their boss, Clint Crow, who had now renamed himself Clintzilla, to come up with a plan of getting into the royal palace.

"Is it just me, or is he a terrible thinker?"

Ashki turned around to see who was speaking to her. It was Bristyn, one of the best bodyguards in the group.

Aside from me, Ashki thought to herself. After all, she had spent years learning all about hand to hand combat, and how to shoot a gun.

"If you're referring to the boss, then yeah, he is a terrible thinker. I mean, all he has to do is inform our contact that we've arrived," Ashki said.

Bristyn face remained blank. "Huh? We have a contact?"

Ashki rolled her eyes. "I am Clint's top informer, or have you forgot? I'm the spy in this group, so, duh, I'd know more then you. We have a guy that went back in time months ago. He's already gotten himself a position inside the palace as a chef."

Bristyn nodded. "Oh, so that's why I haven't seen Sheen for a while. That guy is the best cook!"

"I don't really care," Ashki said uninterested.

"But…"

"Would it hurt you very much to go away, and keep your mouth shut?" Ashki asked. Bristyn shook his head. "Then leave."

Clint kept thinking that there was something that he was forgetting! He had everything he needed to get into the palace. He had the weapons, he had the people, all he needed was… oh, right! He forgot! He already had a contact inside the palace. All he needed to do was let Sheen know about the plan, and everything would be set.

Getting out a pen and paper, Clint quickly wrote a letter to Sheen, telling him everything that he would need to know. After sealing the note, he looked around for someone who could deliver this inside the palace without getting caught.

"Ashki! Get over here!"

Ashki ran toward her boss. "Yeah?"

Clint handed her the letter. "Deliver this note to Sheen. He'll know what to do. If all goes well, this village will soon be ours!"

Ashki silently ran off into the night, and Clint went to his tent to try and get some sleep. No one noticed Lee sneaking away from the encampment. And no one knew that she had observed everything that had just transpired…
