"Dude, I just wanted to apologize for what happened last night. It was so un-cool. I never do that to guys who have boyfriends. I really do respect that. I guess I musta been pretty wasted," Todd had run up to Jake first thing in yet another class they shared together.
"It can't ever happen again. I don't even know why I said yes to those beers, to the party. It was such a bad idea! Luke was so mad at me," Jake whined. To make up for what he had done, Todd was going to have to listen to him bitch. Todd just stood there, unsure of what to say. He didn't know this guy well enough to give him advice. Jake saw the look on his face and smiled to himself a bit. It was kind of fun to make this guy uncomfortable.
"We'd better sit down. Class's about to start." Jake smiled and followed him.
"Oh my God, I can't believe she just said that!" Jake giggled. He and Luke were curled up together watching bad television. Luke laughed.
"I know, this is so horrible! We shouldn't be watching this trash!"
"I miss this," Jake sighed. Luke's laughing subsided and he ran his hands along Jake's arm.
"Things, unfortunately, have to change. You go to school. I work. All the time." Luke sighed this time. Jake decided to take full advantage of this rare bit of time together and moved his hand down to Luke's pants. He swatted him away. "Can't we just watch this? You know, just enjoy being, together?"
Jake nodded and gave Luke a peck on the lips.
"I have a work thing tomorrow night, so I won't be back 'til late," Luke broke their short silence. Jake shifted away from him and turned his attention to the television. "Fine. Be immature about it, Jake."
"I'm scared, Luke. I'm really scared." Jake buried his head in his hands because in this intense moment he did not want Luke to see him cry. He would not be the vulnerable one.
"Everything will work out the way it's supposed to," it wasn't much comfort, but it was all he felt able to provide.
"Can we do something after class today?" Jake asked Todd on their way to biology. Todd shrugged.
"Sure. Are you sure you don't have to go home to your boyfriend?" Jake ignored the tinge of jealousy in Todd's voice.
"He's working late. Again." Jake ignored the tinge of jealousy in his own voice.
"Are you going home for Thanksgiving?" Todd asked Jake. Jake nodded and took another bite of his pizza. It was a regular Wednesday evening. Luke was at work, Jake and Todd were at Todd's, hanging out. Jake wasn't really used to having friends. He'd always felt so isolated at home, but here, he had quite a few. Of course, he spent most of his time with Todd, but it just made sense since they were in practically all of the same classes and they liked all the same movies. Todd handed Jake another beer. They didn't normally drink together, because of what had happened that first night, but tonight they were celebrating their successful midterms. Jake, unfortunately, still didn't know how to control the amount he drank. That, mixed with the fact that he and Luke hadn't had sex for about a month, was a really bad combination. Jake looked really deeply into Todd's eyes.
"Todd, I…um," and he leaned into him and kissed him. Todd responded, eagerly. It felt so good to Jake to feel passionate again. They made out for a while and then Todd reached down to Jake's pants. This time when he began to unbutton them, Jake made no effort to stop him. Todd slid off Jake's pants and underwear and leaned in. He wanted him so badly. It felt so good to Jake to be wanted so badly. He grabbed onto Todd's head and began playing with his hair. Everything felt so right and had he mentioned, good? It felt so good, in fact, that when Todd gently turned Jake over and began to unbutton his own pants, Jake didn't even hesitate, even though he'd never been in that position before.
When Jake woke up beside Todd, he'd expected to feel shock or even disgust. Instead, he just felt happy. Todd rolled over and smiled at him, "Morning sunshine."
Jake kissed him on the forehead and climbed out of the bed. He was still naked.
"I should get dressed. I have class at noon."
"Definitely. Thanks for last night." Todd's smile was apparent in his voice.
"Thank you." Jake smiled at him and walked out the door. Once outside, he began running. He didn't go to class. He had lied about having class.
"What are you doing here?" Luke stammered, extremely surprised to see Jake at his office.
"I am taking you out to lunch!" Jake smiled brightly.
"Where were you last night? I know you didn't come home." Luke wasn't stupid. He'd remembered last time Jake had done something wrong; he'd immediately run to him and tried to right it by some surprise romance.
"I was studying and it got really late and I just decided to crash at Wendy's." Luke didn't believe him, but he went along with it, because he was in desperate need of benefiting from Jake's guilt.
"You know, let's just skip lunch and go home, Jake."
Luke lay on their bed, completely exhausted. Jake had gone into the kitchen to make them sandwiches. Both of them had decided to take the rest of the day off and Luke was glad he'd made the decision he had. They'd never been so passionate before. It had been hotter sex than he'd ever been able to imagine. He liked a guilty Jake. It somehow really got him off.
A/N: Another really short chapter. Thanks to all who have been reading, especially those who have been reviewing . I am not quite sure where I want to take this, but I do like this new turn of events. Peace!
