With Larni and Aden separated by the power of their mother's magical bless for Larni, how will they cope without one another? Will they ever find each other again? Here is Chapter 7, where all is revealed….
Aden stood on the road and shuddered. He shuddered not for one, but for 3 reasons.
The first one is most obvious of them all – it was cold, and getting dark – not the most ideal conditions for standing alone near a forest. The second reason is that the Sags prowled, hungry and ravenous around this time, so he was at great risk of being kidnapped and eaten. And the third reason? Larni was gone, nowhere to be found.
He had never used his magical ability to be transported to somewhere he had never been to, nor hardly heard of. But hew knew he had to do it. He knew he had to transport himself to Planet Sinainty, and try to find someone to help locate Larni. He had never been to a magic land, and maybe this is year their journey would take a turn – he may he find their mother in Planet Sinainty, and if lucky – Larni.
But the world is a big place – and the magic world is even bigger. The chances of finding Larni without professional magic help were 1 to 1 million. This is the reason Aden needed to get to Planet Sinainty – and fast.
He knew how to do this though. It was a different form of the "Valuar Incanquest", which excluded the use of one's charm. You see, the "Valuar Incanquest" in the ancient language of Kinjan translates to "take thee to". So, to use the "Valuar Incanquest" without a charm, you must hold your hand up to the sky while the other is simply by your side, say "Valuar Incanquest" then, say the place you wish to be transported to.
In this case, Aden as you know, was ready to go to Planet Sinainty. So, he conjured a "Valuar Incanquest" of which he stated "Planet Sinainty" directly after.
And, as Larni was, he was flung into a vortex. With his mind full of thoughts on how to find Larni, if he did the spell correctly and about the journey, he too lost his balance, and the force of gravity came so unexpectedly, he tripped and fell – face first into the mud.
Attempting to hide his embarrassment, Aden wiped his face with his sleeve until he was sure his face was clean. He glanced into a nearby window and noticed an exceptionally deep scratch under his left eye.
"Damn," he though "Now I have to walk through an unknown magical town looking like a criminal." Which was true, as his clothes were now torn and muddy, and the new scratch didn't make him much more attractive.
He started along before people noticed him, glancing in windows and trying to picture Larni's face in between crowds and shops and houses.
He wasn't having much luck, when a familiar face walked up beside him.
"Heard you left the lab, huh Ady boy?" said the stranger.
Aden turned – and with sheer excitement on his face, saw his lab partner, Sarah – known around the lab as "Saz".
"What the in the world are you doing here, Saz?" he enquired,
"I'm Kinjan, durr brain. I kind of noticed your ways, your outcast from the rest of the crowd – a typical Kinjan. Although I didn't want to take my chances guessing wrong – so I was Kelly." she said.
Aden didn't quite get it. "You were Kelly? What does that mean? Who's –"
Aden stopped. It was coming back to him now. Larni's little friend Kelly, the one that had met up with them on the road…..and the one he had been Larni's voice and said "Goodbye" too.
"Nice little stunt you pulled there, Ady boy. Kinda mean, though don't you think? She can speak for herself that Larni girl, believe me." she said.
Aden started to remember that Larni was still missing. And he was about to tell Saz this when,
"Where is little Larn's anyway?" she asked
"To tell you the truth, Saz," he started "I don't know. She's gone. I've lost her. I've failed my mission!"
Sarah pulled Aden into a hug and assured him that everything would be ok with a playful punch on the shoulder.
"How did you know that one of Larni's friends was Kelly? Do you spy on us or something…." he asked
"Something like that!" Saz chuckled.
Aden wasn't really expecting that sort of answer, so he waited for Sarah to continue her explanation.
"I am Kelly." she said. Aden gasped and looked at Sarah in a new, puzzled way.
Without waiting for Aden to say anything in response, Sarah morphed herself into Kelly – Larni's little friend.
In a squeaky, young, school girl's voice, she said, "Hey, Mr. Ady boy, don't worry – you know how you and Larni have that gift of telepathy? I got morph. Cool huh? Oh, and welcome to Planet Sinainty – you made it Ady!" she laughed.
Larni stepped out of the room with her knew clothes on. In her old, everyday farm life, she would never have even looked twice at this sort of stuff in a dress up shop!
In her hair - which had now been washed and combed - was a dark purple headband, which glitter's sparkled in the sunlight.
Her top was black, with purple outlined edges on the cuffs of the sleeves, and the bottom of the top. She wore a skirt, which was also black and had an outlined edge down the bottom.
Over the top and skirt was a cloak – a real cloak, which was an extremely dark purple, which suited her perfectly.
She looked like a wizardess, and only wished Aunt Tansy and Uncle Joe could see her now – she could imagine how Aunt Tansy would coo over how beautiful it was, and how Uncle Joe may roll up the sleeves.
Then it reminded her of Aden – of how she missed him. But she knew that she had somehow been brought here for a reason, and with or without Aden, she was going to complete the journey they had started. Their journey through magic.
"You look stunning, Larni of Sinainty." started Shamika through the doorway.
Larni smiled and gave a little twirl.
"What is Sinainty?" asked Larni. It sounded funny to her.
"This is Sinainty" said Shamika. "This is where you are now. You are here at Planet Sinainty. Of course, we aren't really a Planet, just hidden away from the non magic folk."
Larni smiled. The name sounded comforting and warm to her – like a mother's hug. Of course, she didn't know what a mother's hug felt like, but had dreamt about it many times.
Shamika pulled her aside once more and into the room she had just been in. In the room was a cupboard – quite a normal cupboard, actually – yet in it's own way, it was quite special.
Larni was told by Shamika to place her hand on the cupboard, fingers spread and concentrate on herself. Just to think of all the things she had ever achieved and all the things she had ever loved, hated….etcetera.
She did this and only a few moments later, she felt a tingling down her spine and a prickling of the hand that she had pressed against the cupboard.
When Shamika finally told her to open her eyes again, there lay a wand. A wand with a rich brown texture and a few charms places a round the handle.
"It's beautiful!" exclaimed Larni "Is it mine?"
"Of course it is yours, that is what this cupboard is for – producing wands. Every living person in Sinainty has one. It is passed down from past family – for example, this was from my mother, whose mother had it before her, and so on. Quite amazing really." She explained.
Larni held her knew wand out in front of her.
"This is going to be big," she thought. "This is going to be really big."
With Larni and Aden both currently in Planet Sinainty, how will they locate and eventually find each other, and will they? Does their mother also live in Planet Sinainty? Move on to Chapter 8…..
