I promise
Summary- This story is inspired by real life events. I hope it inspires all the people that have put up, or that are putting up with events like this to make a change in their lives. Because, after all, you are better then that.
It was a month after it had happened to me first when it happened again. I thought it was going to be the very first last time… but the truth was, it wasn't. It happened again and again, weighing me down like a rock, until finally I collapsed, hitting rock bottom. My name was Kristina, until I changed. This is our story.
I wasn't the kind of girl to flaunt her "goodies" as some boys at school would call them. I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, and by a slant of light inherited some extra dough from my dad who suddenly decided to show up in my life. I was 16, just 16. No one had showed me any attention in school… that was, until he came around. He was perfect, and I was everything but.
I first met him in chemistry. It was like a little weight was lifted from my heart when I saw that icy blue eyes. Well, not really. I'm just trying to make things sound a lot better then the original way things happened. In reality, he was just the new kid on the block. Girls crowded around him, flirting while filling him in about the other students. It was really like a vicious game of predators picking on other predators. I enjoyed looking at them wondering what was going through their heads and not their mouths. Anyways, back to the point. I was the usual silent me, the speak-when-spoken-to kind of girl…until his eyes landed on mine. My voice cracked out a "hey" and my smile turned crooked. My fingers fumbled over the sentence I was writing off the board causing me to uneasily scratch out the words in runny black ink. His eyes remained on me until I finally looked back at him. That's when the teacher walked in. I remember I had never been so happy so see Mr. Winniearski in my life.
The minutes ticked by and the bell rang in my ear, it's never been the same since. He pulled me aside after class, making me shiver at the warmth of his hands. The first thing he ever said to me was my name, and after he did what he did, I cursed every letter that has to be written to write it. I found myself backed against the wall, a dangerous place to be. I had never expected for him to ask me out in that second, I was really prepared for the worst. Of course, being 16, I said yes because of my raging hormones and he was sooooo hot.
A week went by, then two, then five. It was four movies, six dinners, and one sneak in the park after hours before it happened. Justin got mad. Weather or not it was at me I can't remember, but it was the worst I had ever seen him. I tried to do everything perfect for him, tried to do everything I could to try and calm him down, but it didn't work out that way. My attempts just made it worse, and I paid for it.
I came to school that week with bruises down my arms and legs. It was easy enough to say that I fell off my 4-wheeler, everyone knew I had one. Weeks went by and the bruises were forgotten. Justin said he was sorry, and everything was good again. The movies continued, and so did the dinners. I started hanging out with his buddies and he hung out with mine. The kisses and hugs got deeper and more meaningful to me, something I had never experienced. For now the fight was over, at least to me.
Face down- The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Hey girl you know you drive me crazy
one look puts the rhythm in my hand.
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down.
Cover up with make up in the mirror
tell yourself it's never gonna happen again
you cry alone and then he swears he loves you.
Do you feel like a man
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.
A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down.
I see the way you go and say your right again,
say your right again
heed my lecture
Do you feel like a man
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down a new life she has.
One day she will tell you that she has had enough
its coming round again.
(repeat)
Do you feel like a man, when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the grown?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has.
Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt she says I finally had enough..
