Summer Melody

How sweetly does the melody
Drift on the summer breeze,
Swirling 'round the butterflies
And floating past the bees.
It sings of love, and life, and joy
Of laughter and delight,
It tells its merry tales to us
Of all that's good and bright.
All the children turn their heads
To catch its joyous tune,
Enraptured by its blissfulness,
They dance all afternoon.
And in their souls they hear the song
Though they grow old and grey,
Reminding them of happiness
In their darkest days.
