Photographs,
Capturing a still in time
Never to be forgotten
Always imprinted
As I light them up,
And burn them down
They still resonate in my mind
And in the flame,
Burning a whole
In what used to be feeling.
Now it is comforted by the realisation
That I'm numb and no longer have to bear
The pain the death of a fire brings.
Though numb is only comfortable so long
Before it is replaced with insanity,
Burning a whole
Bigger than the picture itself.
Take a photograph.
Treasure its memories,
Or spend a lifetime trying to forget it.
