Tap on the Shoulder
(re-edited Song version)

(Authoress Note): This... was the product of the poem, and the bits and pieces of the song version that was originally here. This version is more of what I was aiming for, and it took me a while to gather up the courage to even look at it again. There is a lot of new stuff in here, but the chorus will always remain the same. This has been, and always will be, a song for my Uncle "Billy", who passed away on September 29th, of 2005.

I've been meaning to tell you
That I wanted to say hi
I know you can't stand this
You don't want to say goodbye
Looking over your shoulder now
Don't worry about a thing
I'll make sure you'll be happy
I'll keep you underneath my wings

A tap on the shoulder
A soft kiss for you tonight
I just wanted to tell you
That I'm more than all right
I'm okay

What about that silly voice?
That always made you smile
I'll do it just for you ('cause)
I know it's been a while
Since your smile lit the room
Since the rain was gone
I'll tell you before you go
It won't be long (now)

A tap on the shoulder
A soft kiss for you tonight
I just wanted to tell you
That I'm more than all right
I'm okay

I know it'll take some time
Things will look up soon
I'm looking down at you
From the surface of the moon
Can you see me standing there?

A tap on the shoulder
A soft kiss for you tonight
I just wanted to tell you
That I'm more than all right
I'm okay

I'm okay
I'll…be…okay

(Ending Note): Thank you for reading this (and for some of you, this is probably the millionth time you have), and reading the words I've put out. So leave a review, and tell me what you think. I do not mind constructive criticism (knowing me, I need it). I will actually be recording this song in the end of March, with my chords on guitar, and my best friend on flute. If you want to hear it when it's done, I will be glad to email it to you. It might not end up like this when it's recorded, but these are the final lyrics (or as close as I'm going to get).

For all those that were there for me... eraced, hailstar, Contender, Searching4Truth, my family, my friends, and so many others... thank you.
