92'Wow Bree…' He said for once I had left him speechless but it wasn't because he couldn't think of a retort to destroy my life like I would have liked it to be, it was because I had changed so much and the only reason a guy is left speechless because you have changed so much means that he liked the way you changed and believe me, this is so not a good thing.
Even still I couldn't help but smirk at him.
'Now isn't this a turn around?' I said and he quickly recovered from his shocked state.
'I don't know what you're talking about Thompson.' He said running a hand through his dark brown hair that the female population of the school claimed to be sexy. I know for a fact that he only does this when he's nervous. Me, Breanna Thompson, had made the hottest guy in school, Ryan Parks, nervous.
'What's going on here?' I heard my best friend Stephanie's voice as she pushed through the crowd that had gathered around Ryan and me. She took one look at the scene in front of her, shook her head then grabbed me by the hand and dragged me behind her.
'Steph!' I shouted. 'What the hell do you think you're doing?'
'I've made a resolution.' Stephanie said.
'Steph, new years is still far away.' Stephanie completelty ignored my remark.
'I'm going to keep you away from Ryan Park this year.' Stephanie said and I looked at her as if she were crazy.
'Oh and you're going to go up to him and say 'Ryan please leave my best friend alone from now on.' And he'll say 'Of course Stephanie.' Because he's the most sweetest and most sensitive boy ever to live in this world and not the insensitive jerk I'd always thought him to be.' I said in the most sarcastic voice I could master but Stephanie just rolled her eyes at me.
'Of course not,' She said. 'I'm not stupid.'
'Well…' I started and earned a death glare from Stephanie.
'Look, I don't know how, but I'm going to somehow stop Ryan from bothering you.' Stephanie said.
'Well you better think fast because my first class starts in five minutes and I'm with Ryan.' I said looking at my schedule.
'Why were you talking to Ryan?' Stephanie asked with a grin on her face.
'Well, let's see…his locker is beside mine and he didn't realise who I was until we came face to face then he was all speechless so I decided to take advantage of that moment.'
She took a moment to take all that in then opened her mouth wide.
'Oh My God!' She said. 'Ryan has a crush on you!'
'What?' I asked. 'Have you like lost your mind or something?'
'Ryan Parks has a crush on Bree?' I heard a familiar voice from behind me. I turned around to see Tina's black hair covering almost all of her face. She quickly pushed the hair out of the way and gave me a mischievous grin.
'Ryan has a crush on you?' She asked. 'Ryan Parks?'
'God no!' I replied.
'Then why was he left "speechless" as you say when he realised who you were?' I turned to look at my best friend. She looked so innocent at first glance; with her pure blond hair (very unlike mine which had streaks of brown through it) and her hazel eyes but right now was one of the moments when I thought that behind those hazel eyes was pure evil.
'How about you go and ask Ryan that?' I said. 'I thought that you were going to somehow stop Ryan from bothering me.'
'Well that was before I realised he was crushing on you.' Stephanie said.
'He is not crushing on me!' I said.
'I always knew Ryan liked you.' Tina said.
'He does not like me!' I said in a frustrated voice.
I was so glad to get out of the 'Ryan Parks likes Bree' conversation when the bell went but it didn't last long as I saw Ryan walking into my first class. I had completely forgotten that my first class was with Ryan.
'God help me!' I said to myself and walked into my first class, which was the subject I hated most with the teacher I hated most and I had it with the person I hated most. First day of school is just so darn fun!
