Celebration
I sat on the bed looking at my papers to The Cardington Agency. I was frozen as I held them in my hand.
I was perfect. It was out of the "I think I can" phase and it wasn't long until I would be strutting my stuff on the catwalk.
"Magalia!" I heard Ryan say as he sat behind me. "I'm so proud of you!" he said as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders. He took the papers from my hand and cleared his breath.
"Oh tell me a story uncle Ryan!" I joked as I laid back letting the suns warmth spread across my body from the window.
"Ahem, Dear Magalia Evan Linden, We would like to say thank you for participating in the Cardington Modeling Agency's New Model search. We are very happy to say that you are one of the top 3 male models whom will take part in New York's Fashion week.
Yadda yadda yadda!" He set the papers down on the nightstand and leaned over to kiss me. It was sweet and gentle.
It had been almost 5 years since we first started dating. I was 19 and he was 23 now. I couldn't help but wonder how we made it this far. And I wondered if we would last even longer. It scared me to think about us breaking up. And now I felt that it wouldn't be to long before our careers took their toll on us. This small Texas town was feeling smaller now that we were doing all of this. He was in a band that was becoming better known, and I was on my way to being a model. You do the math.
But as I watched him lay down next to me, I smiled, knowing we were meant to be.
"We're going to celebrate this!" he said kissing me once again. "You and me. We're going to Lua!" He smiled.
"Lua!?" I looked shocked.
It was a very fancy restaurant but I had only thought it was for the rich and upper class. I suddenly knew that this was going to be more than a celebration.
