Episode one:

A Not So Normal Day

What started out as a normal day would soon change my life forever. I was walking down the street, shopping bags hanging from my shoulder, passing row upon row of Benz and BMWs. My phone rang, snapping me out of my daze. I pulled the phone out of my pocket and flipped it open.

"Hello?"

"Dani, baby, how are you?" I grinned as I approached my car.

"Hey Jessie," I responded. "How are you?"

"Aw I'm alright babe, thanks for asking."

"How's the hospital treating you?" I asked, getting out my keys and opening the trunk of my car.

"Well it's much too clean and way too white." He joked. "But there is this one really hot nurse that takes care of me."

"Well aren't you lucky." I joked, setting my bags down in the trunk of my car.

"So what did they say?"

"Well I broke my left leg in two places and crushed two of my lower ribs. All in all I thought I came out pretty well." He tried to joke, but his voice was a little strained.

"When do you think you'll be able to get back to the track?" I asked.

"I get released from here in about a week and then I'll come visit you guys but I don't think I'm going to racing for a while."

"What about Grand Central?" I closed the trunk of my car then leaned against the back of it.

"It's definitely not going to happen this year. I guess it'll be all up to you babe." I smiled even though he couldn't see it. "Alright well it's time for me to be taken care of so I'll talk to you later. Come by and visit some time would ya?"

"Of course. I'll talk to you later." We both hung up the phone and I slid it back into my pocket and was walking around to the door of my car when I felt a hand grab my wrist and a voice whisper in my ear.

"Play along please," I looked up and almost blacked out from surprise, for standing before me was none other than Trent Jacobs, punk rocker, guitarist, and all around teen idol. Seeing stars around this city was common enough, but they were known to keep to themselves.

"Hey sweetie," he said loudly. He stooped down and planted a kiss on my cheek. The street suddenly grew much quieter and I looked over my shoulder to find 20-30 glares boring into my back from the many fan girls. "Come on hun, it's time for some lunch." He pulled me down a block or so and we stepped into a fancy restaurant. He glanced out the door then sighed.

"They'll be there for a while; we might as well just stay." I was still standing there gaping. I looked down and noticed that he still had his fingers entangled with mine; he too looked down and immediately let go, grinning.

"Sorry about all this. I'm Trent Jacobs," he said quietly. "And you are?"

"Danielle Fombre," I said, regaining my usual poise, quiet and distant. A man came up to me and my winter coat. I felt people staring at me, analyzing every move I made. I suddenly felt what the celebrities had to deal with every day. We sat down in a large booth off in a corner of the restaurant. He pulled out his phone and had a short conversation of "no" and "yes." I sat quietly, leaning back with my arms crossed, glaring at people staring who went wide-eyed and went back to their meal. He scooted next to me and put his arm around my shoulder.

"So this is a nice place for a first date," he said, grinning.

"Do you always pick up random girls or are you actually able to find one that wants to date you once in a while?"

"Ouch," he said, smiling. He pulled his arm away. "That was a little harsh."

"It's a harsh world," I retorted. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. His green eyes glistened at me.

"Ya know, I don't think I've ever met a girl who has managed to insult me so thoroughly in so few words." I raised an eyebrow. "It's sort of refreshing." We heard commotion from the kitchen and guess who walked up to the table? That's right, the final two members of the band. My eyes were immediately drawn to the electric blue eyes I stared at every night before I went to bed. A poster of him was taped on my ceiling. Tre McCombs was almost the best drummer to ever come out of the rock world. His eyes locked with mine for a moment before sliding to Trent. All the guys did their handshake-thing.

Allow me to take a moment to describe each member of the band. Trent Jacobs was a heartthrob. He had shaggy brown hair and light green eyes. He was the shortest of the 3 though he was still taller than me by a few inches. He was outgoing and charming and had mad bass skills (or so I've heard). Conner O'rylee was the lead guitarist and singer of the band. Light brown hair fell into his face and dark brown eyes shown brightly. Now, Tre McCombs, there was a species of the male race that was true eye candy. Gorgeous electric blue eyes and spiky black hair made him hotter than should be legal. He was pretty tall and unusually reserved, sort of like me.

"Dude, it's so much harder to get through the kitchen," Conner said sitting down on the opposite side of the table, "There were too many damn fan girls out front." He spotted me. "Who's this?"

"Danielle Fombre." Trent informed him.

"Is she another one of your stupid fan girls?" Tre asked, staring coolly as he sat stiffly next to me. I opened my mouth to retort but Trent stopped me, putting an arm around me.

"Actually I think she quite dislikes me." I just glared at the table. As much as I hated it I could feel my face flush. Conner slouched in his seat and lazily looked at Trent.

"So why's she here? Finally get a girl to go out with you?"

"No," I retorted quickly, shrugging off Trent's arm. "I don't want to be here. I'd leave except I would probably be attacked by rabid fan girls." I motioned at the front. Conner started cracking up.

"I like you, you're alright." He said grinning at me.

"Ditto, though I can't say the same for these two." I responded, lightening up. Trent mocked a hurt look and Tre just scowled. The waiter came and took orders. I decided I'd stay since I was getting free food. After an hour or so everyone was just sitting and talking after eating their fill. I was mostly listening since Conner and Trent both seemed to be rather talkative. Suddenly my phone started ringing and they all looked at me. I blushed faintly as I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Danielle, where are you? You were supposed to be home two hours ago." I heard my brother firmly remind me. I looked down at my watch.

"Shit sorry Jeff. I know, I got kind of… side tracked." My blush deepened as I noticed all the guys staring.

"It's alright just hurry up, we have to be at my boss's meeting by 8 and I know how long you take to get ready."

"Alright, I'll leave now. Sorry."

"It's alright. I'll see you when you get here."

"Alright, love ya." And with that I hung up and stood. "Sorry I've gotta go." I grabbed my purse and headed for the door. Fortunately the fan girls had all dispersed so I avoided being attacked. "Thanks for lunch."

"Hey wait up," I heard. I turned around and Conner was walking after me, pulling out a pair of sunglasses. He followed me outside. "I couldn't just let you walk all the way to your car without an escort. You might get mauled." He grinned. I smiled back. I fumbled with my keys as we walked to the car.

"So who's Jeff?" he asked suddenly.

"My brother; I forgot that we have to make an appearance at his boss's winter party tonight." I stopped in front of my car and opened the driver's door and put the seat down, taking my bags from Conner who had kept walking. He turned around and gapped at my car.

"Th... this is yours?" he asked. I laughed but there was something strange about his stare.

"Yes, why?" I asked nonchalantly.

"It can't be." He said, looking at me strangely.

"And why not?"

"This is the car that was racing the other night." He said, looking closely at me. My face paled. Allow me to take a moment and explain what exactly we're talking about. I race cars. Actually I'm one of the best known racers on the streets. The only thing is, is that no one knows who I am. If my parents found out what I did I wouldn't be aloud out of the house; and if my brother found out… well forget the rest of my life.

"What racing?" I asked weakly, trying to feign innocence.

"It is you. Holy shit." He exclaimed. "You are a damn good driver. I can't believe you're the one who won all those races. I mean just think about it. I'm standing here talking to the person who—"

"Conner you're rambling," I said, stopping him. I took a deep breath. "Yes that was me."

"Holy shit!" he said again, grinning. "Wait till the guys find out, especially Tre."

"NO!" I said loudly, drawing a few stares from passersby. "Listen, you can't tell anyone. No one knows I do this, no one can, especially not Tre. Swear to me you won't tell."

"Oh please, just Tre—"

"Conner!" I yelled at him.

"Alright alright," he said, holding his hands up in defeat. "I swear I won't tell them, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop watching the races. Are you racing tonight?"

"Of course. It's training for Grand Central." I said, leaning against the hood of my car. His eyes got wide as he leaned next to me.

"You're planning on racing Central?" he asked.

"Yeah. I've got four weeks till the race." I said, running a hand through my hair. We sat there for a few minutes, girls winking at Conner as they passed. I just rolled my eyes. A shadow came over us. I looked up and there she was, the grand ice bitch herself.

"Why hello there Danielle," she said, batting her lashes at Conner. "You must introduce me to your friend." I got up and Conner stood with me.

"Since when do you talk to me, Brittany?" I asked, using her full name. She immediately redirected her stare to me but it turned into an icy glare. Brittany Besovist. She was one of the ones who thought she was all that and she had all the money in the world. She was the biggest whore in my school and every guy I talked to, she's probably slept with. Her daddy calls her Princess and treats her like royalty. She gets whatever her little heart desires.

"Whatever do you mean Danielle? I talked to you earlier today, at school remember?" she glared at me then shot Conner another sweet look.

"Yeah you told me to 'move bitch.' So I really think I'm gonna do the same to you, cuz I've gotta get in the car and leave. Come on Conner, I'll take you back to the others." I sent another glare at Brittany and was about to get in the car when I felt a hand on my shoulder and my eyes came in contact with Conner's.

"I'll just say bye to you now babe." I could see Brittany's smirk, thinking she'd won. I had a split second to send a questioning look at Conner before his lips came down on mine. I felt his arms wrap around my waist and I unconsciously wrapped my arms around his neck. It was a very innocent kiss, closed mouthed. It was really more of a long peck on the lips but somehow Conner made it look like much more. I heard Brittany screech and storm away and I grinned as Conner pulled away.

"I figured you didn't want to just drive a few blocks so I thought I'd make it easier on you and just get rid of her," he said, letting go of me. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I started cracking up. He stared at me.

"Was I really that bad of a kisser?" he asked in mock-seriousness.

"No, no, that's not it at all," I said standing up, clutching my side. "Oh my goodness, that was priceless. I have been trying to do that for the past six years. Wow, I bet she won't even talk to me now. Right then, well I really do have to go." I said, getting in my car.

"Alright, I'll see you tonight."

"You might." I said teasingly, starting up the car.

"You have to promise me something."

"Oh yeah?" I asked, putting it in drive. "And what's that?"

"You have to promise to come talk to me after you win tonight."

"When I win?" I raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure I'll win?"

"Of course." He teased.

"Alright, I'll see you then." I flashed him one last smile and drove home.

So I've decided to redo this story because it was dragging and not very well written so I'm trying to get it going again because I really like the idea. Tell me what you think. For the people who are new to the story or don't remember it. There is a lot of very vague references in this chapter. You'll find out more about everything. Jesse is going to play a pretty big role in this story so keep an eye on him. Thanks and R & R!
