Part 1: The Dream

I ran as fast as I could. There was only one way to go, forward. I was running from a shadow-like figure in the distance. Running on a beam of light, the only support I had, surrounded by nothing but darkness. I felt like I was getting nowhere when something unexpected came. It came from inside me, some kind of light figure.

It looked like me, but it was white and glowing. As it came out I fell to the ground and looked behind me. The light figure dashed towards the dark figure as they both pulled out weapons. The dark figure carried a huge sword, holding it by placing it behind his head on his shoulders, and the light one carried two average sized katanas. The one in his left hand was held normally and the other one was held in his right hand at his side, backwards. Kind of as if he was going to stab something. They were about ten feet from each other when they both jumped, ready to strike each other. Then something strange happened, a loud buzz sound that shook everything. It happened again and the surroundings vanished. I opened my eyes slowly to see 6:00 flashing in front of my face.

It was time for school again.

I smashed my fist on my alarm clock as I made a groaning noise. I slowly rolled off my bed and got up on my feet. I did my usual morning routine; go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, and throw on some pants and a hoodie for school. After I examined myself in the mirror, after all, looks are important in high school. I looked okay, I guess. I had my black semi-curly hair reaching my eyebrows, my favorite plain black hoodie on and some jeans that were slightly baggy.

"I need to gain some weight," I thought as I examined my slender physique.

I decided not to think about it and ate my usual breakfast, Pop-Tarts, as I rushed to the door with my books in my hand. I slipped on my sneakers and walked to the bus stop.

My bus stop is about three long blocks away from my house, so I use the walk to check and see if I have all my books. I forgot my homework as usual. I put my books away and looked at my Mp3 player's clock, 6:54.

"Crap!" I said, "Late again."

Running to the bus stop really sucks. I turned the last corner only to see my bus driving off towards school. Not again. I pictured myself falling on my knees and screaming "Nooo!" towards the sky like in the movies and chuckled. Well, time to start walking.

It was an hour walk to school, probably would be shorter if I walked a normal pace, but I like to enjoy the scenery. I thought about that dream I had that night. I thought it was pretty cool. I imagined myself becoming a millionaire by making a movie off of the idea or something like that. I always dreamt big. My stomach growled and I realized that Pop-Tarts aren't enough to fill this bottomless pit of a stomach, so I made my usual stop at the bakery on the way.

The lady that owned the place was nice, she would usually let me hang out there for a while and we would chat about supernatural events. That's what she was into. She was a big lady with brownish/grayish hair and always wearing an apron.

"Alex! Aren't you supposed to be in school?" she asked with a smirk on her face.

"Yeah, but I decided to visit my favorite bakery along the way." I replied.

"Well then sit down. I've got something to show you, I think you'll like it. Let me go get it really quick, while I'm out watch the shop."

I nodded and with that she went out back towards her car. Just when she left a customer came in. He wore an extremely expensive business suit with shades. "Are you the owner of this shop?" he asked.

"No, I'm not, but can I help you with something?"

"I need to speak with the owner, it is very important business."

"Alright, I'll get her, just one minute."

I walked to the back room just in time to see her walk in through the back door with a rectangular box about the size of her arm. "Hey Sandy there's some business guy looking for you out there." I told her.

"There is? Listen, Alex, I need you to do me a huge favor, okay?" she said. I nodded. She kept talking "This is serious. Take this box and go to this spot," she handed me a separate sheet of paper, "make sure you do this right away."

"But I have school." I said.

"Just trust me, do this first." she said. I nodded again. "Good." She said, "Now go through the back door, hurry, I need this done quickly."

I took the box from her hands and jogged out the back. I wondered why she wanted me to do this so badly. She made it seem so urgent, I just couldn't refuse to do it. I pulled out the sheet and the spot she mentioned was right behind the huge hill behind her shop. I climbed it quickly and examined the area. There was nothing here, just the grassy hill and the beginning of the woods behind the hill. "I know she wouldn't send me here for nothing." I thought. I set the box down and looked at it. She never did say not to open it. A small devilish smirk came upon my face and I slowly took off the tape sealing he box. Slowly I opened it and looked inside.
