Revised July 4, 2012: Hey guys! I didn't realize how badly this story needed to be edited. It seriously looks like it was written by a teenager (well, I was a teenager when I started it). Well, hopefully I fixed that. Enjoy this new revised chapter!

Okay, I never thought it would happen. Never in a million years. I never thought that I, Miranda Lisa Williams, would fall for a girl. I was straight, boy-crazy as a matter of fact, and I had never looked at girls that way. So what was it about her that made me feel so out of control? Well, if you keep reading, you'll find out.

The bright sun only heightened my irritation this day. I stood staring at the building in front me. In big fancy letters was spelled, "Minerva High School" with a picture of an owl next to it. The scowl on my face must have been a frightening sight, for the nervous little freshmen avoided eye contact with me.

I sighed in frustration. Another year at this place. Only the presence of my delightful friends could help me survive. At least it's only junior year, so I'd be out of high school in no time.

Forcing my feet to move, I walked through the big doors and entered the school. I went straight for my friends' hang out spot where I knew they would be waiting.

Just as I expected, the three of them were there looking at sheets of paper.

"Hey guys," I said. All three of them turned to look at me. Maria had a sympathetic look on her face.

"Didn't get enough sleep last night?" she asked. I nodded solemnly.

"What are those?" I asked motioning towards the sheets of paper they had.

They all gave me a funny look.

"Our schedules, duh!" Jason said.

"Oh," I said slightly embarrassed. Man, I was really out of it this morning.

"What's your schedule like?" Tina asked. I grudgingly pulled out my schedule and gave it the once over. Before I could speak, Maria snatched it out of my hand.

"So it seems that you and Jason have first period together, and Jason and I have second period together. Sweet!" she said.

I held out my hand. "Can I have my schedule back? I don't have it memorized." She shoved it back in my hand and went back to comparing hers with Tina's.

Not long after we determined how our schedules overlapped, the school bell sounded.

We only had a little over five minutes to get to class, but out of the corner of my eye, I spied a bitch. I walked over to her with a polite smile on my face.

"Are you looking for a room?" I asked her sweetly.

Her eyes flickered up at me with distaste. Yep, I was right. Total bitch.

"Yeah, I'm looking for the RmAB101," she said with her nose in the air. Maybe she was trying to sniff for the other bitches she hung out with.

"Oh, you better hurry then. It's all the way down on the opposite end of school. Once you get to the last building, walk through the double doors and there's your classroom," I said with a fake preppy voice.

"Yeah, bye," she muttered and hurried along to class. Jason walked over to me.

"You just told her to go to the boy's locker room," he said.

"Did I?" I feigned horror. "Oh, well. She shouldn't have called me a whore in middle school."

"You're terrible, you know that?" he said, trying not to grin. It didn't work. We ended up laughing our asses off all the way to class.

"I wonder what Mr. Jonas going to be like. I heard that he's so hot," Jason said as we neared the door.

"Eww, gross! He's a teacher! I heard that he's an okay guy. Maybe he'll go easy on us. Algebra 2 Honors was hard."

*"Whatever, I am still entitled to my opinion of how cute a guy's butt looks in jeans," he huffed. I had to smother my laugh as we stepped into the classroom.

Our eyes immediately went to the young man in front of the room. Wearing professional attire, he stood tall and his bright blue eyes surveyed the room. I looked over to my friend, and he was googly-eyed.

I think Jason found a new crush. I, on the other hand did not. While our teacher was attractive, he was also slightly boring.

He spent the entire class going over the syllabus and introduction to the subject. I was surprised that I managed to keep my eyes open.

I literally dragged myself to my next class. My eyes kept drooping every few seconds. Pre-Calculus had left me tired. I entered my APUSH classroom with half-closed eyes.

"Hey Miranda!" my classmate Leslie shouted. We weren't really friends, but we have had several classes together. Acquaintance would be a better term for her. I sat down next to her and put my head on the desk.

"You tired already?" she asked cheerily. Who on Earth could be this happy so early in the morning?

"My first class was boring. Math makes me sleepy," I groaned and brought my hand up to cover my yawn.

"Who do you have?" she asked.

"I have Mr. Jonas for Pre-Calculus Honors."

Leslie didn't respond because someone else did. My eyes were drawn to a blonde green-eyed beauty. Angela Johnson. I fought hard to keep a blush from spreading to my cheeks.

"I have him for fifth period. What's he like?" Angela asked, taking a seat next to me. I could practically feel the warmth radiating from her. Her soft looking pink lips slightly distracted me.

"Um, he's alright, but the class is boring," I managed to say after a few seconds of staring.

Instead of exposing my embarrassment, she just laughed and lightly touched me on the arm. My skin tingled where she touched me.

"It's been awhile since I've talked to you," she said looking directly into my eyes. Her presence was so alluring, I couldn't look away.

"Let's hang out some time. Just me and you," she suggested.

"Sure," I said trying to hide my enthusiasm. She was so pretty. I hadn't really talked to her since freshmen year, so I was looking forward to spending some alone time with her.

"Hey, I'm having a back-to-school party on Saturday night. Why don't you bring your boyfriend?" she said snapping me out of my reveree

I looked at her quizzically. "What boyfriend?" She frowned in confusion.

"Aren't you dating some guy named Basin?" she asked. She must have heard this through the grapevine. For some reason everybody thought I was dating Jason, even though he was gay. Technically, he was bisexual, but he was more interested in men.

"His name is Jason, and for the last time, I AM NOT DATING HIM!" I hate that people keep spreading that around.

She giggled. During freshmen year, she used to tease me about it.

"Well, now that we have that fact established, will you please join the rest of the class?" Mrs. Terrell, my APUSH teacher announced.

I looked up and saw the entire class staring at me. Leslie and Angela could barely hold in their laughter.

"Yes, Mrs. Terrell," I muttered sinking low into my seat.

Well, this day started off great.

I stole a glance at Angela. Maybe this year wouldn't be so bad.
