Forever There

As the window opens to reveal my soul,

And only the thin layer of glass protecting it,

I imagine the cups clanking,

the sound of a wine so delicate sloshing within.

And as we drank, the beer of all our lives was beginning to seep in.

We were drunk within ourselves,

of ourselves,

for ourselves.

And the rehab of this moment I face will never work,

It could never work.
