1A/N : I wrote this poem for a girl whom I love as if she were my sister, even though she is my surrogate one... when I'd thought that she'd changed to be someone she's not...
NEVER LET GO…
I'm standing at a crossroad,
I don't know which way to go...
I'm looking all around, searching
for a light to guide me...
I feel a soft ripple on the calm waters,
I saw hope, as I saw her-
I met an angel, with a smile on her face,
Who'd guide me through out the ages...
Truly, she helped me find
the true meaning of life,
As she taught me to love and care,
By just being there...
She held my hand, and hugged me-
I hugged back as if I'd never let go...
But in a flicker, she disappeared-
She didn't care for me anymore...
Her loving smile didn't shine anymore,
And, she didn't turn to look at me again...
As she crossed me, as if
She didn't know who I was...
As if I was 'nobody' to her...
I began to believe the lie-
As it appeared to me, by
the coldness in her eyes...
But, I couldn't understand-
How could she change so much?
Why didn't she have her sweet smile anymore,
or her loving touch...?
As I questioned myself-
How could she have become
so much unlike herself,
Just a mere shadow of her prior self?
But still...
I wondered, and I thought,
...maybe I was wrong after all...
I gave reason after reason,
Just to prove myself wrong...
Cuz, somewhere deep inside
My heart, I still knew...
That she can never be this way,
Her pure soul could never be untrue...
I told myself to hold on,
(And) I didn't let go...
(Cuz) I still believed in her;
I held on... I didn't let go...
All the hope I had, showed me truth,
As my heart was proved to be true again;
As the morning sun dawned on me,
And the night's darkness gave way...
She hadn't changed-just been
too caught up at that moment...
Cuz, soon after, she looked at me
and smiled again...
She spread love everywhere she went,
And stood by me once more...
She held my hand, and hugged me-
I hugged back as if I'd never let go...
P.S. I wrote this on 11th October 2006, regarding my Angel...who's touched my life with her magic wand (her sweet smile) and turned it beautiful by the warmth in her hug.….
