Why is she still here?
Why is she still near?
Dearly you held onto her.

A past "love" you say.
Yet she's still around everyday.
Sadly, you were still holding on to her.

Between us a new love grows,
Yet around she still shows,
Slowly, you lost grip on her.

Our love still going,
Her true self slowly showing,
You caught sight of her.

A falter in your voice,
A hurried glance, by choice.
Slowly a figure comes closer, it was her.

A jealous lover I maybe,
But no better is she.
A competitive one surely would be her.

Perhaps she wishes for yet another chance,
You did not hesitate to take a short glance.
Again, you caught sight of her.

It pains me so, to see this happen.
As my mood slowly begins to dampen.
I fear what I may hear about her.

You unravel your past with her to me,
I wish I had just left it be...
As a chain of sickening events lead up to her.

Your past with her was not pretty.
You could say it was near dirty,
As she would force you into things.

But the past with her I dare not want to know anymore,
As slowly, unknowingly my heart apart you tore.
She continues to taunt me with her evil smile.

To her, she says I am a friend,
And a helping hand to me she will lend.
Yet all she lent was grief and trouble.

Conniving, deceiving, plotting, and competing.
She even asked for you and her to have a secret meeting.
But a true man you are, warned me about her plans.

Her reputation going downhill, as her friends even warn me.
Her true self, selfish and mischievous, they say to me.
And I wonder, what made her so special to you.

But as time goes by, I realize she was not special to you,
But rather what she did to you, the lies she told you, all you needed was something true.
Why must she have done this to you, I wish you two never met.

But the past is the past, and hoping, wishing, you have forgotten this event.
And when you say you love me, I hope it is said for what it is meant.
May that boy crazy fiend never bother us again.

For it seems you are not the only past "lover" she bothers for attention.
