A/N: This story was inspired by one of my favorite authors, Clive Barker. If you have a queasy stomach or anything of the sort then please don't read any farther! If you decide to anyway don't leave me a bad review. At that point it's not my fault. You've been warned! This is also my first horror story I've ever written. So tell me what you think please.

The Unholy Feast

The night was perfect. The clouds hung ominously over the Earth as the pitiful humans lay asleep in their beds, except for an unfortunate few who slept on the cold cobble stone floor. These few would be among those spared of joining the feast.

On each of the thickly thatched roofs of the rich, sat these wild-eyed creatures, coated in this thick grime that oozed and slowly dripped off their scaly forms, down their huge almond shaped eyes that stretched from the center of their faces, where a nose should have been but looked as though it were ripped off leaving a gaping hole that trickled blood, to its temples that could visibly be seen pulsing hard with anticipation. It was the unholy night... One to never be spoken, written, nor seen... For the living that is.

The creatures opened their thin-lipped mouths, a snake-like tongue curling out like a joyous dog, and dug their long mud caked claws silently into the straw, saliva dripping out and burning through the wood supports as though it were cotton candy, their eyes glowing eerily beneath the moonlight that peeked between two black storm clouds. It was now time...

No longer could any of these creatures hold off their hunger, nor the excitement of yet another kill... They flew on top of beds, biting into unwary human flesh, just enough to paralyze them, as their own fluids stopped their bodily functions. As the people stared opened mouthed in surprise at these monstrous creatures, they are dragged out into the woods, piled high towards the heavens, and each of them knew, their life was over and only in moments, would they be devoured by these disciples of Lucipher.

The paralysis wore off slowly, letting the agonized humans moan and scream for help... A hope that was soon lost like the cries of the children for their mothers as they also lay in this pile, their lives fading away with the tides and wind. All they could do now, was watch in horror as the monsters leapt toward them, their tongues lolling out of their mouths and eyes spinning in every way that seemed so inhumanly possible, but of course, these creatures were in no way, related to humans.

The monsters suddenly seemed to become more... quiet and reserved, gently placing each adult, child, and babe in a neat row organized by sex and size, leaving a certain amount of space between each individual person. Then the night winds disappeared and the monsters parted, moving into an almost military-like stance to let in their king. Their leader.

It was the most gruesome of them all. It held itself upright like a king, but its rancid stench filled each and everyone's nostrils making the humans whimper from the burning affect of such a horrid scent. Its body wasn't comprehendible, all there was to see was this huge mass of skin, but somehow, this mass of repulsive flesh ate. It fell over the humans who screamed and wriggled, trying to force themselves to move so they wouldn't die in such a way. It ate the adults first, spiting out the bones as it went its way, and then the children, moaning in satisfaction as the crunch of bones echoed in the babies' ears that were soon to come next. The monster slowed its pace, enjoying each second of its feast of human children, their softer skin easily pierced by the monstrosities teeth, blood seeping from the punctures.

Now every child was consumed and the babies shrieked in fright as the beast came closer until finally, one of them were ravaged, the monster licking its lips as the succulent tender child easily was eaten. The babe seemed to just melt in the monsters mouth and it groaned with the pleasure of having once again, another human baby. Then it moved faster, eating faster and faster as its hunger and need for human flesh quickened, each baby's blood dripping off its mass of skin, the creatures tongue licking it away as though it were a sweet juice not to be wasted, until finally, all of the humans were eaten. The feast was over for this night. All that was left were the bones of the adults being chewed and munched on by the carriers of the feast for their king.
