Upon My Beloved's Grave

Upon the morn, the skies had wept
Reflecting my woes and sorrows with their tears
Here within my sight the shadows crept
And the raven pleasantly upon the steps, he slept

Mourning, lost in nostalgic lullabies as I gaze upon the transept
My knees upon the muddy earth where my lover had lain dormant for years
Lost in those memories of joy, and these thoughts I forever kept
Recalling and reminiscing, not realizing where I may be swept

The Raven wakens and lets out a faint caw and once again, there is the regret
Haunted by my beloved's sentiments and my own fears…
Another caw and more tears are shed; once again, I am a nympholept,
Forced to be the one, after such a loss… to just accept

The death of my beloved with thine eye so bright and so adept!
Gone, and my eyes may not be blessed by the sight for years…
Another caw from the Raven, O' Raven, Enough of your mocks and be windswept!
The Raven only cawed louder; mourning into the dismal morn, acting inept

"Enough wretched bird and begone!" I cry, and spun to rid myself of the fiend except…
I found myself meeting my fate upon my lover's grave stone, and death my true fear
Taketh my soul he had, scythe in hand and so here is how I had left…
And here the Raven only cawed once more into the morn, settled and slept once more

A/N: I thought I'd post my poetry here. This was inspired by the poem "The Raven" where someone loses their sanity and kills themself ironically. I hope you all enjoy it! I enjoyed writing it! This poem just uses a typical ABAA Rhyme scheme. I'll post some of my beter works later. This one is one of my more emotionally filled ones. Too common and cliché I know. lol.

NekoKaji Thanks for the wonderful review and bringing my error to my attnetion 3
