Alone again, in your bed of contradictions

My hearts the only heat

Where cold words,

And cold shoulders have made their nest,

Faint memories of warm hands, warm breath, and loving words

Blow through here like the winds that wait

To push me back to where I belong

Never quite a strong as your piercing eyes,

Inviting lips,

Welcoming words,

Always drawing me back in to you.

I offer feeble resistance,

And put up only a pathetic fight

Because I helped make this bed

Now I have to sleep in it.
