For some it's the sound of a skate slicing across the ice. For others it's a puck hitting the back of the net or bouncing off a pad. And some just can't get enough of the smell of the ice in the morning.
But for me, it has always been about the rush. It's about knowing every single move you make has a big impact. It's about moving in sync with four other players. It's about flying across the rink and feeling the wind in your face. It's about outsmarting your opponent. It's about the thousands of screaming fans who come to the rink each night. It's about trusting your team and realizing that they will always have your back.
The rules of hockey are simple. Just put the damn puck in the damn net.
Because out there, everything makes sense.
