Strange Kisses
Prologue: A Kiss
'Alright, Neva, truth or dare?' Carla asked. I sighed. Why was I doing this again? Oh yes, because my best friend, supposedly thought that I needed something better to do on my Friday nights instead of watching TV. TV is a lot more fun than being in a stupid sleepover with 2 dozen girls crowding in the room, playing truth and dare. Seriously!
I heaved a sigh. Might as well have some fun, I thought to myself.
'Dare.' I stated with a shrug and the room swelled with gasps. I rolled my eyes and looked expectantly at Carla, who was apparently known to be the master of all dares. Apparently, whenever someone took a dare from her, they tried to back out, and since they weren't allowed to do that, they were kicked out of the sleepover and labelled as a 'loser'. That's why no one ever took a dare from Carla. Well, I would show her.
A grin that could only be described as evil appeared on Carla's lips.
'Hmm…let's think…' Carla said thoughtfully, tapping one of fingers against her chin as everyone held onto every word she said. 'Well, since you're a first timer, we should give you something…easy…shouldn't we?' I raised an eyebrow at her direction.
'Let's see…' An eviller grin replaced her evil grin. 'I know, I want you to…'
'I told you not to accept dares from Carla!' Emily, my best friend said as she led me out of the house and into the cold night air outside. 'But do you listen to me? Noooo…' I rolled my eyes at her.
'I didn't want to come here in the first place! You were the one who brought me here. I just thought that I might as well take on a challenge while I'm here.' I said, angered that Emily, the person who had dragged me here in the first place, was telling me off for accepting a stupid dare.
'Are you guys done talking, Neva really needs to get going with the dare,' Carla said, interrupting our conversation. 'Unless of course she wants to back down…'
'I'm not backing down, thanks.' I said.
'This could lead to very bad things Nev.' Emily sighed.
'And I can blame you for all the bad things that it could lead to.' I said with a grin.
'On the other hand, it could also lead to very…good things!' Emily said brightly.
'Hurry up!' Carla said, tapping her foot lightly on the ground, with her hands on her hips, looking as if she was high and mighty.
'I have no clue how you can stand her.' I said to Emily.
'Neither do I Nev,' Emily replied. 'Good luck!' With that, she went to join all the other girls as they hid away from me. I heaved a sigh, shivering from the cold breeze.
Come on, somebody come by already. I just stood there for a few minutes, growing more impatient and annoyed by the minute. From the distance, I saw the glow of headlights heading towards me, and readied myself.
A red porche carerra GT came to a halt in front of me. The window rolled down, and I crossed my fingers.
Please let it be a guy, please let it be a guy, PLEASE LET IT BE A GUY!
A guy poked his head out of the window. Or rather, a really cute guy poked his head out of the window.
'Are you...ok?' he asked, raising an eyebrow. A small blush crept to my cheeks as I thought of what I was supposed to do now.
'Um…' I started, glancing towards where the other girls were well hidden. Carla had a smirk on her lips, as if saying that I couldn't do it. I'd show her. I shot Carla a cold glare, before nearing the guy and kissing him quickly on the lips. The guy's eyes widened and I immediately ran away, trying to get to Carla's house, where the sleepover was being held.
A few minutes later, I was panting for air on the steps of Carla's house as the other girls came.
'Oh my god Neva! I can't believe you did that!' Melanie exclaimed as soon as she saw me. I grinned.
'You should have seen the look on that guy's face!' Emily exclaimed, patting me on the back. 'I'm proud of you Nev.' Carla just rolled her eyes and strutted inside the house. She was way too full of herself.
