Apocalyptic

Part One:

Exodus

They came from above in a cloudy night sky,

The burning and fire raped our hopes and desire-

Moving through fields as our passion did fail,

Destruction like hail, fondly killing us so

Where values are many, but integrity low.

We fought and we fought, like never before,

Upon molested resolve, they reined fiery repose.

Writing names in the sky, an impasse of mores-

None could praise the savior we wanted,

That the righteous would fall, their crucifix caged,

A million survivors defy storms with kites-

In rapturous glory it struck, but it struck like a phage.

Their carnivorous revelry took over the land,

A riotous cavort slashed into the stands-

The ensuing chaos was ripe and complete,

Berserk and fanatic civicide took the streets,

Human race culmination ends now in eternity.

The ravages filled us with primal vitality-

Where the onslaught was upon past known society,

Holocaust holds and reprise is unknown,

With a constant bombardment; unceasingly real-

As one bomb fell and another took flight,

To eradicate whole, our societal zeal.

One by one, they then left us to die-

Retreating now home, to the high cosmic skies,

In utter dependence, which was forged by hate-

Instantly wrought of the tears no one cried-

Susceptible more, now to this diseased fate.
