The Gods: Daemons
The Creator, Genesis, and his wife, Terra, gave life to the Spirits that embodied the Four Elements. Earth, Air, Fire, and Water unified themselves in the son and daughters of the Creator, each allowing their god to have reign over their powers. Hazel, the first-born, was inhabited by Air, and by extension, Air flowed into the culture and lifestyle of her people. Air was a free spirit, prone to violent outbursts if it was provoked. Like its siblings, Air gave life and death by its own whim, the bearer of its spirit a mere tool for its will as it was a tool for the spirit-bearer. The two fused into one being, the nature of both bleeding into the other's . Damien, son of Genesis and the god of Fire, was a both a playful and dangerous soul. He would often descend from Heaven in the form of a man to find companionship, though his Father did not know. His conquests sometimes transcended the intention of a lustful being into a love-struck man, and when his companions left the Earth he would turn to his youngest sister, Lilah, for comfort. Water, the calm and wrathful heart, flowed into Lilah with such ease that her siblings oftentimes marveled at her open soul. She revered her Father with such intensity that her love crossed the boundary of daughterly awe into womanly desire. Her envy of Terra transformed into an undeniable loathing that permeated her existence, and often she immersed herself in the needs of her brother to soothe her burning heart. Lilah, with her cascade of curls and shimmering eyes, entranced both her Father and brother with such adoration that Terra grew wary of her intent, and began to create turmoil amongst Lilah's people to keep her from Heaven. As time drifted on, the bond between Lilah and Damien faded, and he started to go out into the world again to seek companionship. Sometimes he would be gone from Heaven for months at a time, and his Father would peer down from the sky and glimpse at his daughters amongst the people, and his son would be nowhere in sight. Damien , for many a time, would slip into the Underworld when he felt the eyes of his Father upon the Earth, and in doing so, would emerge with a heavy heart from the souls of his past companions. Lilah , from the distance, felt his sorrow and ached to comfort him; she had, over time, developed such an intense protective need for him. She saw his experiences with many women, and burned in an inferno of jealousy. Instead of going to his side, she would ascend back into Heaven and bury herself into her Father's affection. Damien, in the midst of his conquests, found that he had fathered a child , and sought to shield the woman from his own Creator's wrath. Both sisters Terra and Hazel concealed his unborn baby from Genesis; however, Lilah's envious heart conquered their intent. In rage at her brother, she exposed her siblings' treason.
Genesis's judgement reverberated from Heaven to the Underworld, his immense sorrow at his son's betrayal only outweighed by his rage. In despair he struck from the sky at the woman, and morphed the unborn child's blood as a mark of his vengeance. His sentence to his children thrust him into bedlam, the heart of Heaven crumbling in the wake of shadow. Genesis stripped the spirits from his gods and cast their souls into the Underworld, save for Lilah. In trembling decision he turned to her quivering form, silk curls cloaking her visage.
" You, my love, I save until the end. You, for your desire, went against my will and in doing so, left chaos in your shadow. Lilah of Heaven, I send you down to Earth, where you shall remain for all eternity. I cast the four spirits into you, and so I shall keep my perpetual eye on you. You are forever in my grasp, so that your treacherous heart will no longer cause my suffering. I have lost my children, my wife, and now I shall lose you in hopes of rebuilding Heaven into what it should be. " He closed his eyes and threw her from the safety of the clouds, and forever shut the gates of Heaven.
