FIRE Watch the fire, watch the flame,
The only thing that can't be tamed.
Infernal shades of orange and red,
Danced with me and then they said,
"Burn burn the night away.
Until at last comes the day,
Make every single darkness fade,
So there is not the lightest shade"
I asked the fire why it wanted to burn It said dance with me and then you'll learn So I danced with the fire a little bit more When suddenly our dance became a war,
The fire repeated what it had said before but this time its voice was in a roar.
"Burn, burn the night away until at last comes the day Make every single darkness fade until there is not the lightest shade"
The fire's fervor had shaken me,
but I had seen what I needed to see.
I left the fire as fast as I could While the flames embraced the last of the wood So I left the fire to do what it must Before it joined with ancient dust The fire let out one last chant and I stood there listening enrapt "Burn, burn the night away until at last comes the day,
Make every single darkness fade,
So there is not the lightest shade"
The fire let out a dying rasp,
then the flame slowly collapsed.
I found the fire's fate to be very sad,
then I walked away from the blazes last stand
