Woman of Fortune

Prologue

My name is Amadea and I am sixteen years of age. I was born on the sea, lived most of my life on it, and will, most probably, die on it. Ever since my father disappeared, seven years ago, I have learned to be independent, to fend for myself, so I know my way with a sword and rifle.

By my father's blood I am a pirate, guilty as charged. I have no mode of travel of my own so I am forced to travel with the merchant traders, though they have no idea of my ethnicity.

I don't think you can count of one hand how many women travel the seas, or are pirates for that matter. Although you may rest assured, there will always be at least one.
